Not all kids are born with the same intelligence. As parents, you must be ready for any possibility. The important things is that you try your best to find out if there is something wrong, accept and learn it and help your kids to do their best no matter what.

How to find out?

Here are some signs for children aged three to six years old having problems in learning:

  • They have problems on gathering information, manage their mind and understand simple tasks. Those are signs of kids with cognitive issues.

  • These kids know cats, dogs, tables, chairs very well. But, they cannot categorize those stuffs into pets and furniture.

  • They have difficulties in solving simple problems such as how to get a toy located a little bit far away.

  • They can initiate an activity but have problem finishing it.

  • They don’t enjoy some games most kids do because they fond them too difficult.

  • They need lots of practices—more than other kids do—in performing simple activities.

  • They have issues with their memory. For example, you give them five stuffs. Then, you take two of them. And, they cannot remember what you have taken.

  • They have problems in telling a story to others.

  • They know steps on performing certain games but they cannot do it in order.

  • They have issues with rhythms, bicycling, balancing.

Then, what must you do?

Get a book on those problems and learn how to help them. Or, if you find it to difficult, get a therapist to both help the kids and teach you how to handle them so that they can keep up with other normal kids.

Also, never show them any disappointment. It’s not that they are underdeveloped. You just haven’t found what they are best doing at.
