Worrying over problems and troubles only leads to more stress and anxiety. While I’m sure you’ve read plenty of articles that tell you all sorts of things you can do to relieve stress, maybe you still haven’t found anything that works for you.

Try some of these silly, but productive, ways to relieve stress. If they seem childish, that’s because they are. But sometimes getting silly like a kid is exactly what you need to get rid of stress.

Jump Rope Lots of dollar stores and department stores carry jump ropes for about a dollar or so. If you’re like me, it’s probably been a long time since you jumped rope, but it’s fun to do. Grab a rope and have a jump rope contest with your children to see who can jump the longest. The more fun you make it, the quicker you’ll find the stress being erased.

Water Gun Fight A few weeks ago I found some huge water guns at Wal-Mart for $1.00 each. When we got home, the kids immediately wanted to fill them up and play with them. Before they could play with them, my husband grabbed one and squirted me right in the face, which of course, led to a full-on water gun fight. Not only is it great fun, but you get in some exercise running around chasing each other.

Playdough

Your children probably loves playing with Playdough. If you haven’t already purchased one of the Playdough sets that allow you to make certain things, you should get one of those. Buy some extra Playdough and have a fun day with your kids creating Playdough sculptures, food, and creatures.

These are just a few ideas to get you started. Think outside the box when you feel stressed out. Of course, taking a hot bubble bath or listening to calming music will help reduce the stress you feel. But getting out and having fun with your children can be just as, if not more, helpful in reducing and eliminating the stress in your life.
