Simple home remedies to beat the common cold

 With common cold doing the rounds with a vengeance now, you must do all you can to protect yourself against it. And while common cold occurs in kids as well as adults, following these remedies will give you a relief from nasal congestions, a runny nose, red ness of the eyes, sore throat and headaches.

1. Mix one teaspoonful of ginger juice and honey and have it twice a day.

2. Crush some rock salt and three pieces of black pepper: Add this mixture to warm water and have it once a day.

3. Soak your feet in a tub of salted warm water. Also cover your head with a cloth on the head at the same time and sit in this position for 20 minutes.

4. Boil a piece of ginger and drink this water once a day.

5. Take three pieces of cloves, add some black pepper and make a paste in mustard oil. Put the mixture in a cloth and warm it in a pan. Once it becomes warm, apply it on your nose.

6. Eat a few dates everyday and wash them down with a glass of water.

7. Before going to bed, put a few drops of warm oil in your ears anc cover them with some cotton.

8. Add black pepper and jaggery in some curd and have it twice a day. It will instantly cure your cold.

9. Another effective remedy is to mix ginger and tulsi leaves.
