Simple tips for safe car driving day/night
63Tips
I am a young driver, having just received a competent driver license 3 months ago. During my two years trial license, I practice some simple ways to avoid getting into trouble like bumping into somebody else's car and get my license cancelled.
1. I always keep ensure that I do something to avoid dozing off. Of course it is not good to drive when you are not 100% fresh but sometimes you have no choice. I have a few experience myself like driving my mother to the airport as early as 6 in the morning. I always ensure that I have something to talk about. When you talk, you think and when you think you don't doze off. I even do the talking when I am driving alone. I may be quite out of the ordinary, but nobody is there to witness you talking to yourself.
2. I always have something to chew in my car, mainly sweets. I got this idea from my classroom experience. Sometimes students just could not help falling asleep in lectures by some old boring professors and some of my friends always chew something whenever they like falling asleep.
3. Ensure that you car is periodically serviced. Maintenance is important. It may cost you some money, so plan on how to spend your money. Do not wait until your car break down to send it to workshop, it will then cost you a lot more.
4. Wear proper shoes and not slippers or high-heels. It is important so that you will not get your leg stuck between the paddles which is always the case when the unexpected happens.
5. I ensure that I am always a step ahead. Many drivers take the car in front of them as their reference, but I usually take the next front car as my reference. That means I get ready to push the brake paddle whenever the next front car slows down.

Good tips, Hornette which are undeniably realistic - and which seem to be what many people put to practice - only that they may have not realized it. To share, my driving motto - NEVER TRUST THE BREAKS - as odd as it seems, is perhaps the reason why I have succeeded in avoiding mishaps on the roads throughout my 17-year driving period. And the trained eye will be able to quickly aniticipate how other drivers will react in any given situation. With this said, I wish you all the best on the road in the many years you have ahead of you!
P/s : And, how is the picture related to the title anyway? Nothing to do with a TOK teacher, i desperately hope....
