(All actions herein were undertaken independently by the Sims, if you begin to doubt your own sentience whilst reading this tale of AI, I humbly invite you to join the club.)

After a solid week of pursuing the Grandma from down the street and around the corner, Merovingian (an evil genius) was getting nowhere. I was getting restless. So one day, whilst Merovingian was working at ascending the career ladder of the police force, I introduced two new characters to the household.

Tabitha Takeover, a young blonde, brusque single mother whose only desire in life was to become a criminal mastermind, and Meep, her daughter.

Tabitha Takeover and Meep Takeover

Upon arriving home from work, Merovingian did not seem all that surprised to discover the additions to his home. His first act was to steal candy from the baby and giggle maniacally, reveling in her tiny cries. Just meters away, Tabitha ignored the incident, too wrapped up in a good book to see why her only child was so distressed.

Whilst Tabitha read a book on the sofa, Merovingian appeared to have a change of heart, so proceeded to play with the child, then place it in its high chair and feed it.

Having attended to the new arrival, Merovingian invited Grandma over to try and kindle their romance. For the first time since her arrival, Tabitha asserted herself. She was having none of it. She met Merovingian's love interest at the door and slapped her silly. The two ladies squabbled for some time, and Merovingian eventually went to bed by himself, after putting Meep into her crib for the night.

Baby in bed, new housemate beating elderly girlfriend about the head, plates on the floor... ahh domestic life.

A visit beginning with physical assault might have been off putting to a lesser Sim, but Grandma refused to leave, instead going inside and eventually putting herself to bed in Tabitha's bed.

She was of course, thrown out with great haste and eventually (dare I say, reluctantly) made her way to Merovingian's bed. She needn't have worried about any inappropriate touching, he was already sound asleep by the time Tabitha had expelled her from the room not once, but twice. (Tabitha is a neurotic Sim who felt compelled to go and check the kitchen sink after she threw Grandma out of her bed the first time, during which time Grandma snuck back into the bed.)

Morning came and whilst Tabitha slept, Merovingian awoke early and decided to teach the baby to talk. When the women in the house awoke and began bickering once more, Merovingian patiently spent two hours teaching Meep to speak, before feeding her in her high chair.

Merovingian was conceived of to enjoy the pain of others, to seek their downfall and to revel in schadenfreude, yet he has clearly found a soft spot in his heart for the waif child of the driven and distant Tabitha.

Just in case you were worried that poor old Grandma wouldn't be able to hold her own against the feisty Tabitha, I captured this fight sequence for your peace of mind.

It's on!
It's on!
