Should You Buy the Sims 3 Collectors Edition or the Regular Version?

With the Sims 3 about to be released (yah!) now is the time to start thinking whether you are going to buy the regular version of the game - which is much cheaper - or you want to go ahead and get the special collectors edition of the game instead.

This page will go over the pro's and con's of each version so you can get the copy of the Sims 3 that will suit you the best.

Ok, Simmers ..

The Sims 3 Collectors Edition

Let's quickly go over what you get with the Sims 3 Collectors Edition:

  • The Sims 3 game (duh!)
  • An exclusive European Sports Car download (nice to have, but not a necessity)
  • The Sims 3 theme music (not really that important)
  • Prima Tips & Hints Guide (this is like a smaller version of the regular Prima Game Guide - so this is actually a very cool edition)
  • and the exclusive 2 GB Plumbob USB drive.  << This is the reason you'd really consider getting the Collectors Edition over the regular version because the extra cost is actually around the same price as getting a 2 GB USB drive anyway.  And this USB drive is very ultra cool.  A very nice accessory for any Sims fan.

Now the USB drive won't actually change your game in anyway (it's just a cool shaped accessory to store your stuff on) but if you need a new USB drive anyway, it's worth considering.
