Single Reason for Forgiving

Some people might say, “I must forgive nobody is perfect” ok that is common. Some would say “Let us forgive each other it will bring peace to our nation.”

Some good men do forgive in a very generous way but what is really the single reason?

The answer? Death. Indeed, death is anytime and there are no mishaps, surely everybody will die but we don’t know when.

At your timetable of life you’ve been through some ups and downs, hate and fear, courage and success and never wondered how long the timetable would be. Well if I know when will I die I should get a list of things-to-do before I die. Something likes this:

  1. Publish a book
  2. Travel around the world
  3. Give something to charity
  4. Forgive people
  5. etc.

But what if that person, after completing the list, died in an accident? The list has no meaning anymore it was not delivered. It is only written. Going to the subject, the main thing about forgiveness is that anytime we, inevitably, leave this life and at the other side of it we cannot do anything anymore. And the people you hated most don’t care anymore and what is the point in them? You’re gone anyway. Same thing also, that you wouldn’t care too because your in this world already. And some worse case could be, people are talking about you and you don’t know the nature of their topics about you because, again, you’re gone. But if you could forgive today, no matter how heavy the hate is, there should be peace within you. Again no matter how heavy the hate is, if you die, it would be no sense anymore because the entity of hate is within you alone. So if your human body vanishes the hate vanishes also. Sad thing is that body never left his/her hate to be at peace. The hate was not placed in the right place which is forgiveness. What a waste life is short afterall.

If ever you forgive somebody and talk to that person right now about good things, he/she would surely treasure it. And if you die today, the talking at the funeral would be “That guy forgave me right before he die.” If you die today try to consider what would be the topic about you at your funeral and on the days thereafter. Life would be beautiful if it will be closed properly, no hanging issues. And that truly is “Rest in Peace.”

It takes so much in a man to forgive. But once he has done so. yes, inner peace. Thanks for sharing your thoughts on the subject.

Btw, it's nice to see another kababayan here in HP. Hub on! :D

What a great topic!

For me, forgiveness is a way to cut through all the selfishness and wrong in the world and focus on the good rather than the bad. We all screw up, and I try to give it as I would like to receive it. I find myself in need of it quite often.
