Recycle Profits in Disposable Camera Bodies. Who Knew?

Here's another unique opportunity which is certainly worth exploring in your area. This, frankly, is an opportunity whose you viability can quickly and easily be determine in your area. Simply contact every photo developer, especially the ones specializing in "one-hour developing" and ask if they are willing to sell (or give) you their scrap single-use camera bodies. Find out how many they generate daily or weekly, and proceed to establish your pick-up route based on their responses.

A good place to start is with Commodity Resource and Environmental, Inc. http://www.creweb.com/. I've included additional information from their website for your review:

Get $ for your Scrap Single-Use Cameras!

Kodak, Fuji, Agfa, Konica, no-names, weird names, all of the "Marts", Walgreens...you get the picture.

CRE has a long track record as the leader in paying top prices for your scrap film. We also pay top prices for your scrap single-use Cameras. The program is very simple!

Instructions:

  1. Please call 800-943-2811 or fill out the form below, and we will initiate your participation in the Scrap Single-Use Camera Recycling Program.

  2. We ship you 10 boxes (9 folded into 1) with 10 DHL EZ Return shipping labels for prepaid return to us. The 10th label is always stapled to the instructional sheet.

  3. When 1 or more boxes are completely full with camera bodies only, take the full boxes to a DHL drop-off location in order to avoid extra $3.00/box pick-up charges. If you have a DHL account and a daily scheduled pick-up, call 800-CALL-DHL for a pick-up at no charge.

  4. Upon receipt of your box(es), we will send you a check within 10 working days. After the 6th box (from the initial 10 sent) is received, we will immediately ship you another 10 boxes and labels for continuing camera recycling.

Can't get much simpler than that! For questions, call Aleks or Natasa at (800) 943-2811

NOTE:

  • Depending on style and batteries, there are approximately 4-6 camera bodies per pound.

  • DHL charges a $15.00/box fee for weekend pick-ups. Please avoid requesting weekend

pick-ups or we must charge back those fees.

  • Please remind your employees that the boxes we supply are for the Single Use Camera Recycling Program only. If lost boxes must be re-supplied, there will be a fee of $0.70/box ($7.00 per 10 box shipment). This only applies to lost boxes and not the routine boxes we supply at no charge.

Note that the price they are quoting is for mixed cameras. One of the nice features of this business is that you do not have to sort or grade your material. You simply load the camera into the shipping containers they send you (free), affix their UPS label, and send it!

Remember: Is your responsibility to ALWAYS know what you're going to get paid for your scrap BEFORE ever buying or collecting it!
