Many people who suffer from sinus headaches will tell you they are migraines. This is a common misconception although; if you suffer from a sinus headache then a migraine hits it will down you off your feet. Sinus headaches are almost always triggered by allergies. If the weather changes this can also be a factor. Other allergies can affect your sinuses.

Sinus headaches will hurt in the forehead, around or behind the eyes, face and sometimes even the neck. A sinus infection can spread to the ears and be very painful there also. Sometimes there can be pressure in the back of your neck and around the top of your head near the front of your skull. Doctors can tell if your sinuses are full by shining a light inside your mouth or sinus cavity. This is when you need sinus headache relief.

Sinuses can stop you from getting a good night sleep due to pressure and/or drainage. If you are lucky enough to have drainage then this will help some of the pressure. Golden Rods, animals, mold, pollens, rag weed, hay and many other factors can contribute to allergies as well as foods. If these allergies affect your sinuses, you need to find sinus headache relief that protects you until the threat is gone.

If you have allergies, your doctor can help you with treatment or you can get an over-the-counter medication that may help. Be aware that some medications may not be taken together and histamines will react with some other medication. Also medications can affect your driving and operation of machines so if you are working while medicated, be sure you know how the medication will affect you.

Sinus headaches are very intense and usually followed by sensitivity to light, sound and smells. They will incapacitate you and can also make you feel sick to your stomach. Sinus headache relief does not always work with over-the-counter medications and you may need a prescribed medication for sinuses. Some headaches can last days or even months and some do not seem to ever be completely gone.

Different types of headaches will require different types of treatments.

• Sinus

• Tension

• Migraine

• Fever

• Hormone

• Other physical conditions.....

Are just some of the different types of headaches you can suffer from. You will want to talk to your doctor about the symptoms you have to find the best treatment available. If you need sinus headache relief and you know you have a sinus headache, you can use some over the counter drugs for relief.

You've listed some great ideas here. There are things you can do for various types of headaches. I always try to find natural relief first, before turning to any over the counter medications. One thing that really helps me is using an aromatherapy eye pillow. It’s great for treating headaches due to sinus pressure, stress and anxiety issues. What I have to found to work best for me is an eye pillow, right out of the freezer. I use a peppermint scented one because it opens up my sinuses and that helps me to breathe a lot better and helps any sinus or tension related headaches. The cold flax seed inside the eye pillow surrounds my eyes and temples which helps to reduce swelling in the sinus cavities and around the eyes. The weight of the flax seed applies just enough acupressure to soothe and relax my facial muscles. The eye pillow also block out all light, when the pain is so bad it just makes you squint you eyes. I searched online and found several sites that had them. The one I decided to go with was A Touch Of Satin. I liked them because their ingredients were organic, and that was important to me. They had an unbelievably large selection of patterns and I like the feel of satin on my skin. They also had a page on their site that talked about the benefits of their aromatherapy scents. They had lavender and that is suppose to be good for migraines. It was very interesting. If you want to check them out, their website is http://www.atouchofsatin.com Well, I hope this helps you and thanks for all the great insight you always seem to have on this site. Good luck!
