Off-page search engine optimization requires constant efforts to help you gain more search engine votes. More links equals more votes and this will equate to more direct and indirect traffic for your website. If you're monetizing your website, this can equate to pure profit!

How do you get more off page links pointing to your website? Here are some suggestions:

>

1.      Write articles. Write articles for article directories that let you link back to your website. Some will let you insert from two to six links that point back to various pages of yours. This can be a great approach!

2.      Do link exchanges. Reciprocal linking with other sites that are in your niche could be very helpful. This can be done via blogrolling, link round-ups and similar strategies such as having several sites of your own and using them to share links to your other sites

3.      Blog commenting can be a great way to get more off page rankings. By commenting on blogs who do follow you, you'll get links pointing back to your own blog. You can also find that this can bring human traffic your way as well and commenting in a niche that is similar to or that compliments your own can help you get more subscribers

4.      Guest post on blogs and sites in yoru niche. It's especially helpful if that site is at least as well-ranked as yours is and even better if it's considered a high authority site with a better page rank from Google than your site.

5.      Buy 1-way links. Some sites and blogs are willing to let you pay to have a link in their blogroll or on their site. This can be very worthwhile if you find a high ranking site to do this because one way links can be considered more valuable than two way links.

6.      Web 2.0 pages. Creating pages like HubPages can be very helpful in terms of linking. High ranking sites with a good Google reputation can help you win favor with search engines, get human traffic, and can even earn you some money while you're building traffic and rankings for your website
