"Ski Carefully, Be Cool And Stay Safe!"

Skiing is often considered a dangerous sport and although you can get hurt, there are specific precautions you can undertake to reduce the odds of injury to near 0%.

The first thing you should consider paying attention to is whether you are in shape to ski safely. The injury rate for out of shape skiers is markedly higher than for those who did some pre-season conditioning...

Skiing is by it’s very nature, a high speed sport and you simply need to have your body able to withstand forces it’s not used to. You’re going 20 or 30 or even 40 miles per hour on two sticks... you need to prepare.

The primary purpose of this article is not to show you how it’s to remind you... you can locate resources to train all over the internet including the link to our blog above. The issue is, do not go up on the mountain until you have worked up a little stamina, ‘cause that’s what skiing takes for most folks is stamina.

The other point is to pay attention to your equipment. Anyone who has taught skiing can attest to the horrible condition some people’s equipment is in when they come for lessons. In fact, most instructors can tell you about sending a class participant back to a ski shop to correct the problem rather than see them risk their life and limb. Badly kept skis and bindings are also a threat to the other skiers around you.

So before the season begins, take your skis and boots into a ski shop for a tuneup and binding check. If you prepare like this then your safety is much much higher than the person who ignores their physical condition skis and. bindings.

Stack the odds in your favor and follow the advice in this article to a safe and tremendous 2010 season.
