Anti-Aging Skin Care Secrets for Seniors
At 50, your life is changing – it’s getting better in many ways. You have more freedom, you’re much wiser and stronger, and you have opportunities before you. It’s an exciting time! But, one of the not-so-exciting things might be the changes you see in your skin.
As your skin ages, elasticity is lost. The systems for repairing skin weaken and lines, wrinkles and sagging occur. That’s the bad news. Your skin becomes drier as you age, so drink plenty of water! Hydrate yourself from the inside out. There is no substitute for water – it’s your first line of defense.
Use a great moisturizer. More expensive doesn’t always mean more effective, just be sure you choose a moisturizer that works well for you. Use moisturizer on both your face and body every day and night.
Don’t forget sunscreen! Sun damage will do more to make you look old than just about anything. Use at least an SPF15.
Consider using specially made anti wrinkle or anti aging creams.
Unless you’re willing to use cosmetic surgery as a way to reverse the effects of aging, your only option is to take great care of your skin. Skin care after 50 doesn’t have to be complicated or even terribly expensive. All you need is a program that works for you and to be consistent.

We don’t like to see the effects of aging on our skin. We stand in front of our mirrors examining our faces for new lines and uneven skin tone. We notice that our skin is losing its elasticity. Finally, exercise has been proven to help reduce stress – stress is very hard on your skin, so exercise it away!
Skip the sun. A healthy tan is nice to look at, but hard on your skin. Sun damage causes wrinkles, and that leathery look you see on women who have sunbathed too much, for too long. Wear your sunscreen! If you want a tan, use a bronzer, or a moisturizer designed to lightly tan your skin.
