Soaps, Face masks in Skin Care

Sweat and dirt, due to climatic conditions and atmospheric pollution pile up on a person’s body, more so on the face. From the points of view of cleanliness and also as a measure keep fit the external look, a good face wash is an absolute necessity.  Splashing of cold water would improve that.  Also, some other easy and useful tips, as follows, will help to have a good and soft skin.

Fatty acids and salt, contained in soaps will make it to be harsh on the skin and make the skin very dry.  Face washes using soaps and cleansers cause the surface oil and oil within the pores to harden.  Therefore, one should consult a Dermatologist to get soap, prescribed which is suitable to his skin conditions and also which acts as moisturisers.  People with sensitive skin should use only a glycerine-based soap, without any chemicals, at all.

People with oily skin should dab the face with tissue to absorb the oil or dab it with compact powder of an appropriate quality and wash it thereafter.  Fried foods, wafers, chips, chocolates and soft drinks should not be taken.  Not less than 8 glasses of water a day is a necessity. Cucumber juice and lemon juice in identical quantities may be applied (without honey) and washed off after it is dried.  If the application is to be kept on the face throughout the night, lemon juice should not be mixed.  Clay based packs are suitable for oily skins.

 

For people with dry skin, soap should not be used. Apply cucumber juice, without mixing it with lemon juice daily, better smash a couple of slices on the skin.  Splashing the face with cold or lukewarm water (never hot water) would increase circulation of blood and its flow to the face. Apply egg or day old malai or day old curd or honey. These would nourish and moisturise the skin.  Wash after 10/15 minutes.  Cream based face packs are suitable for dry skin.

 

Those with normal skin can use a mild soap.

 

Restrict soap or face wash to two times a day. It is better to keep splashing water on their face. The anti-bacterial soaps erode the residence flora bacteria from the skin. In summers, one may go for an exfoliating face wash as it removes excess oil and provides deep cleansing. However, a proper combination of cream and toner will yield optimum results.  

Face packs are good remedy to drive away the fatigue and drowsiness and make one feel afresh.  Face packs, with herbal ingredients, can be applied even in youth in their teens. Fruit based face packs are useful for acne or pigmentation affected skins.  A proper combination of different ingredients of face packs will yields desirable results like reduction in wrinkles, discoloration of skin and acne, besides also being safe on the skin.  Strawberry pack is fine. A sea weed based pace is excellent for ageing skin, because it helps tighten the skin thereby making it look youthful.  DIY face packs are great way to have the face glowing minus the harm from chemicals.  Face masks should cleanse skin thoroughly. 

 

In spite of the above, the best way to preserve the skin conditions is to avoiding using too many chemicals on face.  Natural methods like rubbing of tomato juice or curds on skin, allowing a natural dry and then washing will not only make the skin smooth but also do away with tan.

 

It is better to let the skin get the Vitamin E from natural foods like fruits, veggies, dairy and nuts. Vitamin E supplements like oils and lotions are also good for health.  Vitamin E pills, in limited doses may be useful.  But, increase intake of vitamin E pills will render the lungs exposed to lung cancer and also lower the good cholesterol giving way for increasing the bad cholesterol levels.  Vitamin E is a fat soluble mineral and it gets stacked up in the body when in excess.

 

A paste of turmeric, sandalwood and other ingredients would prevent and cure skin infections, inflammations, blemishes, wounds, rashes, pimples, boils, dermatitis, allergic eruption, nappy rashes, eczema and other skin disorders.
