How could we take care of black skin?
First, you have to understand the different tones of skin. There are many tones of black skin, and you have to learn which products work best for you, depending on your tone. Now, in the market, there are certain products made with black men in mind. These are products that keep in mind the differences. Black men skin care products need heavy oil that penetrates the skin while not leaving it too oily. The black skin also loose elasticity quite easily, resulting in loose skin, stretch marks and fat globs around some areas.
It is very important also, not to use skin lighteners or bleaching creams. Recently the FDA has proposed a ban on these creams. The creams typically contain a drug called hydroquinone, a possible carcinogen also linked to a skin-disfiguring condition, the FDA said. While the actual risk of the drug is unknown, the agency said the products should be restricted to prescription use under medical supervision. Creams that contain steroids and mercury are even more dangerous.
If you're concerned about irregular pigmentation, use sun screen, it will help prevent this from happening. There are also products available for hyper pigmentation. Remember that your skin is very important, so take care of it appropriately. If you're going to use a product, is much better to ask your doctor first, and to get to know your skin.
Shaving Problems of Black Men
Black skin has its own particularities when it comes to shaving. The biggest shaving problems black men face at the time of shaving are razor bumps and ingrown hair. That is why shaving problems of black men are addressed at their own section in our main site. But... what are they? We try to give our best answer:
What is ingrown hair?
Ingrown hair is hair that after shaving grows back to the skin causing inflammation. This occurs because of the nature of black men's hair. Coarse, curly hair grows that way, and when you shave it the end of the hair is very sharp, making it easy to pierce the skin and causing problems. The first sign of an ingrown hair is inflammation and then pus may appear. A "normal" level of ingrown hair heals on its own, but severe cases are better if treated.
What are razor bumps?
Razor bumps (Pseudofolliculitis barbae) are a shaving problem that appear as a result of ingrown hair. They appear when the hair penetrates the skin and the zone gets infected. You can tell the razor bumps by the swelling and burn. Though it is more common in the face, it does not limit to that zone and you can find it even if you shave your genitals for instance.Shaving mistakes
These are the two biggest shaving problems of black men. As you can see, they are closely related, and have the same origin. Luckily, you can prevent these from appearing if you follow the right guidelines for prevention, and if else fails, razor bumps can be treated with the help of specialized products.

thanks for this.
I have a question for you I have heard of a Razorless Shaving Cream that removes and softens the skin at the same time. Have you or anyone had any experience with this type of product? Can it also be used for Bikini lines ?
I have experience with depilatory creams, that you put on your desired area and then you remove the hair easily, without the pain of waxing. Mygirlfirend has tried it on the bikini line, and she found it to be very helpful!
