Sleep anxiety disorder has become one major problem among adults in today’s modern life. It’s not rare to hear this problem is faced by people around us even you may already face it before. This problem may considered as normal by people who doesn’t know in what condition they are but therapists and doctors will easily said that you have a big problem. People don’t know that while they’re in the anxious condition. They will only realize that they were having too much stress before when the problem that made them thinking too much settled.
Too much thinking about your problems is the cause of sleep anxiety and this leads to further problem which affects human nerve system especially in the long term, which is called as insomnia. Insomnia is the last destiny of this problem while sleep anxiety is a pit stop. Anxiety is the engine.
Getting rid of it is not easy if you already reached the final pit stop but it still can be cured. The only formula that worked either in the past or in the future is positive thinking. It’s easier said than be done. Everyone in this world lives in different environments and thinking style is the product created by those environments. If a person lives with people who always live happily, never give up and have a stable life, positive thinking normally absorbed automatically into their mind and vice versa.
Whenever facing a problem whether it's small or big, you need to learn to think and see things from different perspectives so that your mind will create a reason to believe that you can. Anxiety created when you always think negative things that may happen if you do something like this or something like that and something like that and something, which doesn’t have the ending. This leads to the feel of fear, thus activating your nerve system to be aware which cause your brain can’t get rest.

It’s like a loop, but it doesn’t have a stop flag. Example, tomorrow you will have a presentation about your team project and you will be the main speaker of that presentation. People tend to read as much as they can because they scare that they will forget their contents of presentation. This is a wrong way of doing things which leads to stress and at the end, they can’t sleep well or can’t get sleep at all. The implication is really big even though the cause is small. It’s not about the quantity of your works but the quality which need to be managed using the concept of scarcity.
The best way to treat sleep anxiety is to take a deep breath using the concept of 3-7. Take a breath for 7 seconds, hold it for 7 seconds and exhale slowly in 7 seconds. Do it at least 3 rounds whenever you feel that you’re in the stress situation. If you're awake at night and can’t get sleep because you thinking too much, then you need to add more practice other than 3-7 steps.
First of all, you can listen to slow music. While listening, imagine
that you’re at the beach or any places that you dream that can make you
happy. If you choose reading rather than listening to music, then read
something that don’t consumes too much brain activities. This can be
done by reading something funny. If you want to read a newspaper, then
avoid reading about politic and disease sections. Drink a glass of milk
may also help your body to release stress because milk contains many
vitamins especially vitamin B which is important for nerve system and
brain.
If you have a problem, think about it only twice before
make a decision. This can be trained easily but you can’t achieve it
fast if you always think too much about certain problems. But it’s
do able.
Sleep anxiety can be overcomes by thinking positive, make
a decision with think about it only a few times and setting up your
mind to not scare about the effects of decisions that you made. It’ll
be not easy at first, but it become easier if you practicing it into
your life style.
