A narcoleptic usually has trouble sleep at night and even sometimes during the day. Since their sleeping patterns are always at different times it is hard for them to follow at rhythm and get used to it. It is important that you do not confuse narcolepsy with insomnia.

Sleep Apnea Narcolepsy

The problem with narcolepsy is the excessive amount of sleep that is involved. You can get a full night of sleep before but you will still feel sleepy during the day. Often at times a narcoleptic will experience lower muscle strength and movement. This is when it Is very hard for them to move because their body goes into a relaxed state.

The first symptom that you will generally find in this sleeping disorder is extreme excessive daytime sleepiness. What narcolepsy does is disrupts the way the bran is supposed to naturally fall asleep.

In normal sleep the brain needs to pass several different stages in order to have a successful sleep. With this sleep disorder the brain skips some of these steps and therefore does not get what it requires at night from sleep.

The brain then tries to make up for this loss during the day. This is what causes people to feel sleepy and fall asleep randomly at times. It is almost like your getting sleep but it is not the right kind of sleep.

Treatment for Narcolepsy

Treatment for this sleeping disorder can vary from a wide range of options. Usually it will depend on the individual as everyone will have a slightly different case. The doctor will need to check you out in order to determine a treatment that is right for you.

It is important to treat a problem like this with great care and concern. Sleeping disorders are a very bad thing for your health and to be stuck in that kind of state is not good for you. It can affect your personality, social activity and professional work.

If you think you have narcolepsy than see a doctor and get checked out right away.
