Do you have trouble sleeping? Millions of people can be considered your fellow insomniacs. They too have trouble falling asleep or waking up prematurely and are unable to fall back to sleep.
Things to do to sleep
· Try using your bed for only a few things such as making love and sleeping.
· Keep regular bedtime hours with a routine even on weekends
· Avoid alcohol, nicotine, caffeine
· If possible, do not nap during the day
· If you have pain, take your medication before going to bed
· If you must watch tv, make it calm programming – nothing too stimulating
· Drink warm milk at bedtime
· Turn off all lights
· Create a quiet environment
Things to do to promote good sleeping conditions
· Exercise routinely
· Eat healthy foods
· Create an atmosphere that will remain dark during your sleeping hours
· Ensure that your bed is large enough to stretch out in
· Ensure that you have a comfortable and firm mattress
· Ensure proper ventilation conditions exist in your bedroom
· Meditate
Things to do if you cannot sleep
· Get up and do something for twenty to thirty minutes or so that is quiet and calm such as reading
· Turn your alarm clock in a direction that you can reach but cannot keep checking it
· Go take a warm bath
· Have someone give you a nice massage
