As we move through life we move further and further away from the times where things are "slow and easy" and closer to a time full of non-stop emails, phone calls, and constant hustle and bustle. The big things in life are becoming "no big deal" and the little things in life are becoming non-existent. Is this right? That's a question that you have to ask yourself and only you have the answer to that. Please remember though, its real important to take a deep breath and take in the small things that make living so damn beautiful.

For the people that know me, you know I walk that line between both sides of that scenario. I love to stay busy. I'm constantly on the Internet looking for that next major jump off to get into and attempt to capitalize off of the little bit that i have learned... I love fashion and am always looking for that next piece of art to wear that will catch people off guard and "wow" the next person... I'm constantly checking email, myspace, and myself to see who's got what for me to be a part of... BUT... something as simple as a tree... a poem... a song... a chipmunk.. that family of raccoons that rummage through the garbage... a blade of grass... dew on the ground... a single star in the sky... an off color that stands out in a sea of greyness... a spot of grey that stands out in a sea of color... or even that feeling that I get when I open the front door first thing in the morning and inhale that first breath of cool fresh air before even the sun wakes up... is enough to change my mind state... my entire day.. and even my entire life from that point on. At the very least it puts a smile on my face.

Its extremely important to take the time out to notice the small things that God put in front of you. You can find beauty and happiness in the strangest places... all you have to do is pay attention. The sad thing about it is that most people "see" these things everyday and never notice them. With every thing being so fast paced its like we're in overdrive to get to the end QUICKLY. I know everybody knows that life is a journey... but if you speed through it you might miss the signs flying by you on your left and on your right that may indicate an amazing scenic route that would make your travels more enjoyable.

The funny thing is... I know that half of the people that took the couple of seconds that it took to navigate to this article... wont take the time to read it through. For those of you that have taken the time to read this far... CONGRATULATIONS... you took one step closer to slowing down to look and listen to the little things that could change your life. After you read this... look around and see the beauty that's right there. Listen to the sounds around you that create the beat to your soundtrack to life. Take it all in and hold that close to your heart. Please pass this link on to anyone you think needs to take the time out to read it.
