While email marketing for a small business can be highly effective it can also be abused. Please don't send out useless emails to your subscriber. You want the email to have value, you want them to open the email and after reading it they should be a little better for it.
Sending useless crap will only give them an excuse for opt in out of your email list. You don't want potential customers to leave and unsubscribe from your list. It's just not good for business.
