Smallest Digital Cameras
72
Most cameras sold claim they are the thinnest, the smallest, or universally lightest camera. But in actually there are only a few cameras that really can be considered the smallest. These cameras, while very practical for the small size they offer, can cost considerably more than the average camera. However, they do offer some of the best features that technology has to offer.
Small Camera 1: Omnivision OV6920 CMOS
Though this camera is not made for normal photographs it is considered the worlds smallest camera. It is the first 1/18-inch camera sensor. The camera is designed to work as part of a pill for taking photos inside the body. In the picture seen below, its smaller than a pencil tip, but also highly fragile. On the plus side, it would fit easily into your wallet.
Small Camera 2: Misumi Snake Camera
This is one of the smallest cameras imaginable. It seems more to be a spy camera than anything else. Its snake like features allow it to fit into anything larger than 4.4 mm in diameter. It has an LED for filming even in the darkest of places. Though on the negative side its only able to record 320x240 pixels of QVGA video giving us nowhere near standard picture resolution.
Small Camera 3: Cmos video security camera - PC208
This camera is sold retail and smaller than a stamp. It’s cost? For $125 this camera can be yours. Its practical uses seem more useful for spying on someone than anything else considering that it requires only a 1/16" hole to look through. Because its so small, it also requires little battery life, meaning you can leave it somewhere to take pictures and return later to “uncover the evidence.” Its resolution is not that bad either considering with its small size it can capture 492 (V) X 510 (H) pixels.
