To become become team leader, you have to think of ways to get your team motivated and selling and/or recruiting to pay your wage. How are you going to motivate a collection of strangers into working with you - especially if they ALL want to be team leader aswell ? - you need a plan of logical steps for this - GOALS/TARGETS.

Education - the need for teams to succeed - is a fact of marketing life - the solo marketers have people to do admin, customer service and other independent marketer's do joint ventures and social networking together and "talk shop" to collaborate and share ideas with people on a similar level.

- it is no use recruiting an army of untrained zombies - ACTION is required to succeed so you need active people you can meet up with on-line and communicate with on a regular basis - your team mates are the ideal people to do this with -if you are running about blindly posting adverts everywhere 24/7 you are missing vital steps to keep your recruits active - people may join up - but they will leave again just as quickly when another opportunity comes their way. You need to take a good look at your current level of experience and decide who you are going to follow for guidance, and who you are going to lead/coach. and begin to build a business relationship with them.

You Earn I Earn

The way I am going about this is to show my team mates how to start their own teams and be leaders - as if you can teach your own team to make money - you will make money - that is a "secret" to success you need to grasp - you also have to accept that sometimes, some people know more than you, and sometimes you know more than them - ego needs to say - okay I am ready to listen.

- Now you might say what is the point of teaching your team mates to make money if you can't earn on more than two levels deep in a a two tier program ?

The answer to that is - multiple income streams - you don't just use the one program - you find a program that uses more than one method of making money and you combine them into a money making system that can earn you money directly (to pay for adverts/put in pocket to pay bills) AND residual money (subscriptions and/or big ticket items that spread out over a year) and that is another of the "secrets" to earning on-line - it is a piece of the jigsaw that makes up the puzzle, and you need to understand that idea too in order to start working smarter not harder.

I will go into more details in the discussion forums but you should now know why you aren't making money and how you can correct it.

i.e you need a short term or direct source of cash to fund advertising for your main opportunity. and if you are going to be investing in that opportunity with your time and money you need to make Damn sure you aren't being ripped off by the providers of that opportunity.

How to assess an opportunity - what is the product or service like, is it worth the money or are their better free versions ? - is the unique selling point (USP) - worth a person switching from the cheaper free version to an older, more outdated version that they have to pay for ? - in most cases NO -

I mean, would you walk into a cell phone shop and ask for your shiny new photo, video camera, wifi smart phone to be swapped for a 1980's brick phone ?

Answer is - MAYBE - if it's repackaged AND has most of the features of a modern cell phone - the way you'd do that is start a trend - and make it a fashion statement, a status symbol, a 'retro' phone - this is marketing, copy and hype. This is also kind of how a bloke called Steve Jobs and his marketing team reinvented the ipod and turned it from a potential FLOP into a successful TREND.

BUT we don't all have large, loyal, ethically minded marketing teams at hand do we! - so you need to do decide if it is a "dead duck" or not (Marlon Sanders speak!) for yourself - can you sell it ? would you buy it ? is it easy to use ? - if you can't work it/ figure it out how are you going to sell it, explain how it works how you going to explain it's unique selling point ?

All things to consider if you are an affiliate or a reseller - remember you are doing this to get the quick sales to pay for advertising for your longer term income streams so you need a reasonably priced product that will sell - to create self funded advertising stream - this is a essential first step if you don't have all the time / money in the world to do it for you. As you want to get into profit as well as just cover your costs - your profit can be your wage if you have a self funded advertsing system in place.
