If I had to define a smart cell phone or a smartphone in the simplest words, I would say - A smartphone a cell phone with smart features. It is not just a cell phone. It is much smarted that a basic cell phone. It allows you make wireless phone calls, acts as a PDA or a Palmtop Computer with features such as - the ability to send and receive e-mail, read and edit Office documents and much more. Most smartphones have built-in full keyboard or external USB keyboard for easy typing experience.
Smartphone Operating Systems
Smartphones run on Operating Systems (OS). These OS may be Windows Mobile , Symbian
OS, iPhone OS, RIM's BlackBerry, Linux, Palm
WebOS and Android. A cell phone Operating System (OS) is very similar to a computer OS. Like all computer hardware parts need a software to run and these software need an OP to run, similarly a smartphone needs an OS to run all its applications.
