Question: Smoking cessation and weight.

I am a 20-year-old boy who has smoked for about 5 solid years. Now, I decided myself to stop, to be partially due to economy - but also because it smells terribly. I stopped about 3 times before with smoking, but I fall in again as soon as I smell the smoke from a cigarette. I used nicotine gum, but without success. All in all I would like to hear your opinion. What is best to stop smoking. Right now I smoke 1 pack tuck a day. - Just another quick question: is relatively thin, so was wondering if smoking would have stopped me to take a few kilograms at?

Answer:

Let me start by saying to you that it is very normal that you have to try 3-4 times with a stop smoking before they succeed, so there you are already well under way. It almost is the most important thing about smoking cessation is motivation. Why do you want to stop smoking? Here it seems also that you've thought it through. You can read more about the quit smoking pill Chantrix here.

You write the economy, and so you think that it smells terribly. What you could do to increase your motivation to the points you mention here, for example, putting DKK 200, - in a piggy bank each week. This corresponds well approx. for what it cost you to smoke a week. That way you can physically see that you are richer by not smoking. You could then save the money together and buy something that you like for a long time wanted to have, but have not had afford.

You write that you used nicotine chewing gum, but without success. But you do not write what it was not good at chewing gum. What you must realize is that the various nicotine preparations contained only helps you to quit the nicotine urge, special smoking habits you have to work with. If you do not feel that nicotine gum favored means you smoke, then it can surely be an idea for you to test with Zonnic foot spray. With 1 spray between teeth and kind, you get nicotine equivalent to 1 cigarette. The impact comes faster than the gum, and it might be helpful to you.

When you stop smoking, it usually happens that your metabolism decreases, and therefore take several kilograms on. However, it is very individual how much. So you will probably also go on when you stop.

Finally, I give you the advice that you should remember to plan your next quit smoking day closely. It must be almost entirely ritual, ie. throw all the cigarettes and ashtray out, make the car clean, wash curtains and last but not least, planning how you will create "clutter in the smoke", ie. avoid your addictive cigarettes.

Good luck on your new smoke-free life
