It is also stated in a research that smoking is behind 1 death in every 10. So that basically means that in every 100 people, 10 die from smoking.

Why?

Why is this thing very dangerous. Well that is due to the substancees and chemicals which it contains, which also include nicotine, tar, carbon monoxide, and many other carcinogenic substances.

What is found in a Cigarette?

The Cigarette has many harmful substances inside it. Here is a list of what type of stuff you will find.

  • Tar: this is a group substances found in the tobacco smoke. it also contains carcinogens. it leaves stains on your fingernails and teeth.
  • Carbonmonoxide: this is the harmful gas that you breathe in if you smoke. it competes with the oxygen, when combininig with haemoglobins, and it usually wins since its more reactive. this causes unfitness in somkers. thats why they run out of breathe very quickly.
  • Nicotine: this is the addictive drug that makes you want to smoke. it has many side effects including heart rate and blood preassure increase, strain of the heart and many others.
  • Radioactive compounds: the cigarette has also radioactive compounds which are very dangerous to the human body.

For Your Information

Tobacco is a plant. It contains Nicotine on its leaves as part of its natural defense. It uses this to protect itself from bugs. And we come and suck this into our bodies.

Tobacco farmers sometimes suffer poisoning from nicotine when they absorb the chemical through their skin.

How Does Smoking Effect your Body?

Well it does this in many ways. For example, the nicotine causes you to get addicted to it. So you always feel the need to smoke. When you smoke, your body takes in the nicotine which mixes with your blood. This causes your blood pressure to rise, heart beat increase and strain your heart and your vessels. Finally this leads to a heart attack very soon, and then you find yourself in a grave.

Moreover, smoking has many other effects too. Some are immediate while others are after a long time.

Effects of Smoking

Sickness caused by Smoking

Now, this smokign habit also has side effects as diseases, which are fatal. How early you see the symptoms depends on your body and smoking habits.

Here is a list of some smoking diseases.

Bronchitis

This occurs when the cilia cells inside your air passage( throat ad bronchus etc) are destroyed by the chemicals in the cigarette smoke. The job of the cilia is to sweep away the mucus inside the air passage, which contains bacteria and other particles. Since these things are also not moved away, they clog the air passage. This causes lots of coughing, and due the bacteria trapped in the mucus can cause lung diseases BRONCHITIS.

Now what's suppose to happen was, that the mucus was going to trap the bacteria and the dust particles and the cilia cellls were going to sweep it away. This way the air passages are kept clean and safe from infections.

Emphysema

Another lung disease which hunts 20000 people in Britain yearly. This is what happens.

Smoke damages the walls of the alveoli, tiny air sacs inside lungs where oxygen enters and CO2 leaves the blood, which break down and fuse again forming enlarged irregular shapes. This decreases the surface araa for gas exchange. The person with emphysema carries less oxygen. In severe cases, the person can't even walk because they run short of breathe.

There is no cure for the disease and the person has to live near an oxygen supply. Usually, the patient dies after some time.

Lung Cancer

No need to explain alot. Its obvious. You get cancer because of the carcinogens in the cigarette and Die very young.

Furthermore, a smoking person is more vulnerable to other diseases since his or her immune system doesn't work properly. They also take longer to get cured from any disease.

An unusual Fact!!

Do you know who introduce smoking to Europeans?

This is surprising, but its a fact.

Each day, at least 3,000 children start smoking.

3 million adolescents are smokers.

In early adolescence, like 16, Tobacco usage primarily begins .
