Snacks for all you busy people.
56I love food. But sadly, as a fantastic procrastinator and college student, I don't leave myself much time to eat a good meal. So, I've come to thrive on snacking. So, as per somebody's request, I'll give some good snacking options for people on the go.
- Craisins: I've found with most people that they're hit or miss, but I find them to be really delicious. They're good for you and easy enough to throw into a small baggie and take with you. And with all the flavors, if regular Craisins don't do the trick; they also come in 100-Calorie packs.
- Trail Mix! (Or Granola): I usually eat Trail Mix with milk, like cereal, but it's also a good snack, again, awesome to throw in a baggie. It's got protein in it as well, so it's more likely to stick with you than something with lots of sugar and carbs.
- String Cheese: Speaks for itself. Obviously comes in a variety of cheeses, the only problem might be that one string cheese might not do the trick.
- Crackers, cookies, etc.: I like to be healthy with these. Those 100 Calorie snack packs are great to tide you over, and they come in so many different varieties that you're bound to find something you like.
- Fresh Fruit: Apples and bananas are probably the best portable fruits. You can try preparing fruits like an orange or kiwi ahead of time, if it's convenient.
- Microwaveable soups: Campbell's makes microwaveable soups in a cup, making them really convenient to drink in the office, car or on your way to class. Not only convenient, but tasty to boot.
- Canned shakes: Like Slimfast, though these don't seem too great as a snack. I'd rather have something more substantial, and the Slimfast shakes seem to be marketed more as "meal replacement" instead of "Hey, this will tide you over from lunch to dinner." Might not be my favorite, but the option is always there.
- Granola/Cereal bars: Mostly speaks for itself. Extremely portable and really great as a snack.
