So Its Black Friday Again
62Black Friday is the most exciting day of the year, although not considered an official holiday we all anticipate its coming like it is.
Black Friday has served as the unofficial day to kick off your Christimas shopping. This has been so since the start of the Macy's Thanksgiving Day Parade in 1924. However the term Black Friday did not come into use until the 1970's.
On Black Friday, many retailers open very early ( some as early as 5 am) and offer early bird specials. Such as Walmart, who has an even more attractive sale between 5 am and 11 am. So it is not uncommon to see people lined up outside of stores hours before they even open. When the doors open, you can hardly move due to the shoulder-to-shoulder shopping and rush and grab techniques used to ensure getting to the hot items which are limited. Sometimes you will even run into physical altercations over these limited products.
Terminology
The term Black Friday refers to the heavy traffic on that day. Earliest uses come from bus and cab drivers who dubbed this day Black Friday because of the headache it gave them.
So, if you are brave enough to conquer Black Friday and all it has to offer, Good Luck and Happy Shopping
