Are you a mom who likes to stay home and take care of her family all the while earning an income in the process?

Then you could be described as a 'WAHM'

As a result of the high cost of living and a world outside that is hectically competitive the work-at-home-mom was born.

Being caught between financial considerations and the very real existence of young-ones who are below school-level, the modern woman finds that she must re-define herself. She needs, in a sense, to morph into a new breed of creature, a person who has a foot in both worlds and is able to make it work.

This ideally is what a WAHM is.

Many work at home moms have previously been career girls in their 'former lives'. However, this was before they discovered that they could stay home and become proficient in their own business from home. WAHMs are in reality, super moms who can be the super homemakers and super business people at the same time.

There are Mothers who have chosen to look for work that allowed them to telecommute. But most WAHMs have by-and-large opted to go for the best home business ideas they could find and expand from there.

A WAHM is not your typical mom because she can be earning an income even while cooking breakfast for the family. Or she may be attending a swimming party with her children but she brings along all her products and sales-brochures, hoping that she can finagle the time to chat with potential customers while she watches her kids at the same time.

Some WAHMs can begin their day preparing breakfast while simultaneously checking their emails at the computer. Others manage to review their websites or confirm a customer order while chopping veggies for dinner.

Then there are Work at Home Moms who collect their kids from hockey practise while renewing old friendships with parents who also have kids in the school--a good way to find new clients.

A WAHM can also be found in supermarkets, purchasing the monthly/weekly shopping list, but her mind may actually be plotting the next home party she is going to host. You may imagine such a Mom is hosting the party for fun and social reasons, but think again...she is probably killing two customers with one stone--to stretch the metaphor.

That is, this Mom is reuniting with old classmates and introducing her home business to them at the same time.

If you ask any child with a work at home mom he will tell you how exciting life can be with a Mom who works out of home. Her schedule may be wild and never-ending, but she will always find a way to pump up her direct selling business all the while making certain her family gets the care they deserve.

So what is a WAHM?

She is a home maker, a business CEO (and staff too); a multi-tasker, a marketing expert, a Mom with a zest and a self-motivator...to name just a few of her attributes.

It's not easy being a successful work-at-home-mom, but if you have the right attitude and the right 'stuff' you can have a richly rewarding life that would make any other dull by comparison.
