62Let me give you some social anxiety advice
Dealing with social anxiety can be very frustrating for most people, you dont want to go out for fear of meeting people, you avoid going to parties because you dont know what to say, you avoid meeting women because you get anxious and start shaking those are just some of the situation that a person with social phobia has to deal with every day.
It can be a real pain, when i was a kid i thought that i was just very shy, then as i grew up and became an adolescent i still thought that i was just very shy and avoided many things, like going to parties, meeting women and new friends. I stopped going out with my friends because they now were meeting women and i had too much fear and anxiety of talking to any women.
So, when i realized that i had social anxiety i started to push my self forward a little bit more. I went to high school on a foreign country and had a lot of fun with my friends but my fear with women was very high.
I didnt know that social anxiety was a disorder that can be improved with treatments and medication. So i took the difficult road, i had to push my self forward to social situations even when i was very anxious and by doing it this way i improved a lot, but there was a missing piece.
Since i didnt have many social interactions in my adolescence i lacked of social skills especially with women, so read a few books on self improvement, communication, dating persuasion and even physical confidence and that gave me more confidence to go out and have a successful conversation.
My Advice on Social Anxiety
You dont have to be like other people, you dont have to talk a lot or be the fun guy of the party, you only need be confident of your self to talk when you want it and need it, with the people you want.
So the easiest way to push your self forward and gradually reduce your anxiety is to meet people that have the same interests and hobbies as you.
- For example if you like tennis go and take some classes you will meet people that like the same sport and it will be easier to have a conversation with them. Another example is that if you have any especial skills of any kind you can meet people that like the same thing and have some fun with them and even teach them.
Another important advice that i want to give you is that if you lack of social skills or you have to talk in public and you lack of the social skills, by a book or course on that and improve your self, that will give you a lot more confidence in your self.
And also if you case is very severe you need to find professional help. A psychotherapist can help you a lot, behavioral therapy has proven to be very effective in changing your wrong beliefs of your self thus making easier for you to overcome it.
Learn to relax, you can take some classes of yoga, buy a book or audio on relaxation and when you have a social situation apply it to reduce your anxiety.
Now its time for you to take the next step and have the life that you want, dont let your fears interfere with your life goals, its time to move forward.
