Most Internet marketers social bookmark because it is one of the most efficient ways to promote their sites and businesses nowadays, especially with the help of a social bookmarking software. There are millions of sites competing for traffic. No matter how good your site is, but if you just sit back waiting for your site to be stumbled upon by Internet users by chance, then you are committing a bad business decision.

It is a known fact that when you social bookmark, you have to create at least one account in several bookmarking sites. Some think twice because it is such a tedious process, especially submitting a single URL to over twenty bookmarking platforms. If you do it manually, you would have to go to each site and submit the URL, which would take about 2 to 3 minutes. Pretty tedious, indeed.

But, a social bookmarking software would make things faster and easier for you. Different softwares have been introduced on the Web, and they generally do majority of the the works for you such as auto-generating accounts (although some services may require manual generation) and bookmarking your URLs automatically. Social Bookmarks Submitter, for instance, will submit your links automatically at specified time intervals, making sure that the search engines will begin to index your sites faster. There is also this web2submitter developed by Jack Humphrey that allows you to load multiple profiles as well as multiple titles and descriptions, thus helping you to avoid being labeled a spammer.

There are also web-based social bookmark submission services such as OnlyWire and SocialMarker. These websites also have the ability to submit your URLs to multiple bookmarking services.

We know that the process does not end in submitting your own URLs. You have to collect the URLs and RSS feeds that the bookmarks have created and ping them. Again, it can prove to be a tedious process if you do it manually by using web-based pinging services such as ping-o-matic and ping.in. There is another good news though, as there is a social bookmarking pinging software that you can use together with a bookmarks submission software, an example of which is PingSpider. It automates the pinging process, saving you a good deal of time and effort.

With the advent of social bookmarking software, you do not have to worry of the time and effort that you have to use and exert. The road to your online business' success is up for grabs, so better take advantage of it.

The fact that backlinks for your website are essential to having a good credibility and ranking on the search engines is very true. Social bookmarking is often looked to as a tactic to build important backlinks into your site. The sites that are bookmarked usually have a good page rank, which is also essential to good search engine rankings. So, I can really see where your strategy is designed.

I do agree with you that this tactic does make search engine optimization easy and fast. However, Google is not really into this strategy, nor are the social bookmarking sites themselves. SEO trainers have tested this theory, and proven that Google is likely to delist sites that use this social bookmarking theory from their search engines.

However, you left out a couple of important caveats that can make this work better. First, bookmark all of your favorite sites. Then, you can include your personal sites in that batch. That makes it less obvious to Google and to the social bookmarking sites.

Second, your pinging theory is automatic if you program your blog to ping automatically. A good webmaster would set this as the default, but I do manually override that when I post rather unimportant information on my blogs. I don't want the search engines pinged with irrelevent information.

Next, using the social bookmarking automators is a quick way to run afoul of the social bookmarking sites. Let's face it, the social bookmarking sites are not there just to get our personal sites listed. I am very familiar with socialmarker.com, and they represent a very wide variety of social bookmarking sites. It is not one size fits all.

Thanks for your information on this topic.

All this is just to say that caution is essential to search engine optimization. It is work, the old fashioned way building links and adding content, that gives a website credibility, page rank and top search engine rankings.
