Social Network Marketing Works For Baby Boomers Too
More and more baby boomers are using social network
marketing and finding it works better than google to build a network marketing income online, especially for those on a tight budget. Many are
getting into targeted niche markets. The best part is allot of baby boomers have found a way better than google to generate exposure and leads.
I wasn’t sure that someone like myself in their 40’s could catch on to social media, until I seen folks in their 60’s, 70’s, and beyond using social platforms. The light bulb went on and then I realized that social media isn’t just for teenagers and twenty somethings, but rather anyone can use it successfully for many different reasons.
Generating leads on google can be very tricky and expensive. So when I found out that I could create my own targeted leads I took great interest in finding out what, where, how, and when. I soon learned that this is not nearly as difficult as many baby boomers might think. It's usually just a little fear and self-doubt that stands in the way, and that can be overcome.
What Is Social Media?
Social Media is places on the internet that allows you to be social, and to interact with other people. Some of the places where people go on the internet to use social media are:
You Tube and other video sharing sites
Myspace
Blogs
And many, many more social media sites. Some of the best ones are listed above.
What Is Social Marketing?
As you are interacting with other people on these and other social media sites you are essentially building an audience of people as well as developing relationships. Social media by default becomes social marketing as you talk to your target audience about what they want to hear.
Today, unlike in the past, we don’t have to be a web developer in order to use the internet to market. It’s no longer true that we have to be a technical person in order to build a presence online.
But I’ve Never Really Used Or Understood Social Networking
Don’t worry if you have never used social networking or feel that it’s only for “teens” and “twenty something’s.” This is far from the truth. What no one may have told you is that by actually participating in social media, you’ll very quickly begin to understand it and how to use it.
If you find it easy to “just be yourself” and not to try to be someone your not, then you will enjoy social networking. You may find in the very beginning of trying to use social media that you don’t know what to do, and that’s fine. I was I the same boat.
Getting Out Of The Boat
When I first looked at social media sites, I just stared at it and couldn’t wrap my mind around why anyone would want to waste that kind of time. For a long time I stayed in the boat so to speak. After a while, it dawned on me that there really must be something to these social sites or they would have faded away already. So I got out of the boat.
By accident I stumbled on The Renegade Network Marketer by Ann Sieg and Renegade Professional taught by Mike Klingler, which showed me how to set up and use the most effective social
sites and to use them the right way, without being “spammy” or act like a
sales person. This training was taught in a professional and understandable way. It opened my eyes to the simplicity of using social media.
Yea But I Heard It Only Works For Some People
As sure as freshly fallen snow is white, you will see people on the social sites still using the old style sales techniques that were taught to them from their network marketing upline, or some other sales training in another industry like car sales, insurance sales, real estate sales, you name it.
To be fair, it’s not their fault. Nobody has yet informed them of the proper way to use social sites. Sooner or later they will do one of two things. Either they will learn how to use these sites properly, or they will keep using the old style methods, receive no results, decide that social marketing doesn’t work, and quit.
When used properly, it is second nature to use and by default will build relationships and generate leads, generate income, generate referrals, etc. It works this way for anyone who is willing to properly learn and go through the process. Social media and social marketing is the easiest and cheapest way to build a business online.

Enjoyed your feedback Mike. Thanks. In regards to our culture wanting something as soon as possible, I got rid of my microwave. Three years ago. But that's another story :-)

Very informative Hub Charles!
The reason some people cling to "old school" sales tactics is that they provide instant gratification. Our culture is consumed with wanting something for nothing as quickly as possible. Social networking is based on sharing, not taking. By doing so, bonds of trust are established. This is relationship based process that takes time. The rewards of forming relationships are well worth the investment of time. From both a business and personal standpoint, people "buy" products, ideas, services etc.,from people that they like and trust.
