Network Social Software: Social Submitter Review

Several days ago I got in touch with network social software developers of Social Submitter and got a copy of the program to try out. So now, after playing with it for a while, I’m writing this review.

Network Social Software developers have done a great job of creating automated posting procedure for a large set (currently about 160) of social and bookmark sites. Everything was done to make the software capable for submitting a page of a site (and even the whole site) to lots of social networks and bookmark sites within a couple of minutes.

Everyone can download a demo and try out the basic functions of the application, playing with 3 social networks (created specially for the demo) during three days.

As for the English speaking segment, network social software appeared there not long time ago, but has instantly got a video tutorial, as well as a partnership at plumus.com.

After purchasing (at the moment this review was written, the price was 150 USD) the program itself, you will need a set of accounts, registered in social networks and bookmark sites.

I’ve created this set by myself and spent several hours on it. The authors of social network software are planning to sell sets of those registered accounts. The price is supposed to be about 50 USD.

It looks like setting up the account database is the most difficult part in working with the submitter. You can save login info and load it from file when you need it, all this can be done at Users tab. At the same tab you can apply various filters to website list, create your own ones, or choose among the filters preset by authors of social network software Social Submitter.

The second tab brings us closer to the submission itself.

Here you can set target Url, input the text and tags for submission. You can also use synonimizer tool, which applies to {synonym1|synonym2|synonym3} expressions. It allows you to post multiple different articles to social and bookmark sites. The result of synonimizing the article you can see in a box on the same tab.

You can also prepare the text by yourself beforehand and upload it. Social Software can also search all the pages, the target Url refers to. This can be useful when you want to submit a thematic webpage. You usually won’t submit it in the whole, so Social Submitter allows you to choose the pages you want to submit and write the descriptions for them.

After you have prepared the text for submission, you can just press Supmit page and this will bring you to the Log tab.

Here you can see the results of submission in real time. Here it should be mentioned that the submission process works in multi-threading, and you can set the number of threads (depending on your internet connection) in social software program options

My experiments have shown that there usually are 3 or 4 “dead” sites. Authors of Social Software say that the social network sites can be down for some time, and basically several “dead” links in the database is a normal situation. They have also promised to remove dead broken and bad (referring to some blog or porn site) links from the base at each update. The developers constantly monitor site database, and users do significantly help them – authors keep in touch with the customers and all their comments and requests are monitored by a tracking system. Social Submitter team acknowledges the users, that always bring some new ideas to the project.

Now lets go to Crawl & Submit tab

Here you can parse all the Urls of target website, get them in one place and post to all the social networks. As a result, you’ll have your site indexed very fast, but you will be likely to lose most of your registered accounts. So this tab doesn’t work well for white methods. I use it only to crawl websites, when I need to collect the Urls.

One more useful feature, especially if your IP was banned after the submission – is the Proxy Support.

You can add your own proxies and Social Submitter will either pick them randomly or use the one, you have chosen.

Well, almost all successful webmasters tend to automate their software. Social Submitter works well here – you can make it fully automatic if you recall command line syntax and rules of creating bat-files.

Following command-line commands are available:

/file — file to load article from

/profile — user profile or set of profiles.

/proxy — proxy (if necessary).

/nogui — disables user interface.

/filter — name of the filter to be used during submission.

/help — brings in command line help.

The first results shown by this submission tool were expected to be good, but still surprised me. My satellites got much faster indexation, I’ve got some traffic from social networks, that in its turn has attracted some Google traffic. So now I’m waiting for the PR increase. If of course, everything is OK with tags.
