For a year I have created some profiles on social sites,To say the least it has to be one of the most interesting,scary,annoying at points,and good experience I have had! The variety of people on these sites has to be at the top of my list. I have determined from my own experience alot are becoming a dating service! For example: MY Space,I had created my profile mainly to keep in touch w/family,close friends in AK., From day one I had more men aggressively come at me! All looking for a online mate,or what I call the tag'n' bag,which is a competition who can get a "newbie" to sleep w/them offline.Some of those people have even openly claim to me they werewolves,witches etc.. I also came across people who found profiles[friend actv.feed to see what your friends have updated] on there that promote sex w/minors,pregnant women etc.. complete w/photos! I have repeatedly reported this behavior - The response was telling me how to delete comments to me-my reaction:HUH??? Some become mean,rude,if you don't interact daily w/them as well to the point they run you thru the mud w/lies,hacking,plant virus on your profile! I had starting doing background checks to some,the big shocker most were very upstanding,clean record people!! That in it itself was a big wake-up call to me online socialism! I recently got invite from friend to join social site MY YEARBOOK, this site was created by 2 college kids recently,I do feel more comfortable there,its more family oriented,clean per say, interaction across the world. Yes,it has it's kinks,but they do respond to your personal issues w/ site immediately,They give it their best to protect everyone's privacy etc.. They actually spot check profiles daily. It has about 2 mill.mems.I like the fact you don't have to upload other apps from across web[apps from Internet at myspace has access to your personal info&any photos you put there] to interact w/everyone,They have created they own interaction activities: my fav. is causes,You can donate what is called lunch money to real causes such as research for different cancers,abuse from children to four legged friends,they have real companies that match your LM!! I love that concept! Another one: pics.battles,you can upload a photo and battle another mem. w/their photo!MYB Members  vote on it,lots of battle categories to choose from,also have battle groups you can join to help you win your battle.Most battles only last a few days,they offer this on&offline.LOL! there are some mems. who take this way to serious offline,but most of them know each other offline .I do more voting then battling[like the pics!] And last I don't get any hateful reaction if I 'm not in the mood to talk!!
