Guerilla Marketing in Business Today!

Social Bookmarking in Small Business Marketing Strategies

Practically all people who use the Internet and cyberspace as their main cup of tea in making online and small businesses work would resort to any marketing effort to help attain the attention and generate revenue by doing so. There are a lot of strategies that people can resort to that include the following:

  1. Affiliate Marketing
  2. Adsense
  3. SEO Optimization
  4. Social Bookmarking
  5. Link Exchanges
  6. Sponsorship Advertisements
  7. Blog Marketing
  8. Article/ Content Marketing

Whichever among these would be used, for sure, the web expert can surely find a way to make things work for the site that needs them. Small business marketing does not need to be that big. In fact, people with a good working knowledge on how web marketing can work for them, is all that a business would need. The key ingredients are really just creativity and resourcefulness.

Social book marking can help optimize sites, most of which are done through the tags associated with them that allows them to be included in search queries done over the web. The available resources, if found and put into good use will surely be something that all cost conscious people will surely be grateful for. Obviously, the more savings a small scale business can do, the better it is. Social bookmaking, if put to good use, can handle and do this for them efficiently.

Social book marking does have its own share of disadvantages such as possible misinterpretation due to lack of actual tags that can be easily associated with the words relevant towards the business definition and purpose. While this is a risk that can be seen, it would be best for small businesses to develop tag points that will immediately associate it with the business entity.

Small businesses would want to lower the expenses to be incurred in every available way that they can. It is obvious that small businesses are just testing the waters before going full blast and engaging in more serious and larger business competitions. Such would be a good trend today considering that risks involved in putting up promising businesses would go the wrong way if they are not analyzed and monitored properly.

The marketing aspect of attracting more clients and customers is something that minimal marketing proceedings have to cover. It is not a matter of being able to cover a large scope of the target market but by simple making sure that the business is indeed creating marketing awareness to a certain degree. With social book marking in tow, a step in the right direction is in the works but the path should be clearly defined to avoid faltering hopes and potential in the long run.

Interesting take on social bookmarking. While they can bring traffic by itself, I typically think of it as an all around kickstart method for new sites/pages.

Basically, I'd use the big social bookmarking sites (digg and propeller namely) as a means to get my new sites/pages indexed quickly, and then I'd use the smaller social bookmarking sites (that don't use "nofollow" tags) as a kickstart way to get some one way backlinks. And yes, on top of that, we're getting some traffic from people finding the bookmarks alone, so that's a great thing too! =)
