Poison in My Toiletries!!!!!- Sodium Lauryl Sulfate
54How often do you look at the ingredients in products you use each and every day? If you are like most of the population you will rarely, if ever look at these ingredients. Instead you, like most, will purchas what is on sale or you have used before and like.
While there is nothing wrong with this you could be doing yourself harm. For my example I am going to have to harp on an ingredient by the name of sodium lauryl sulfate. Check your shampoo and conditioners for this one. Most have this ingredient in them. It is also used in tooth pastes. Remember the simple principle of, "If you can't eat it, do not put it on your skin". The reason this is true is that your skin absorbs what is on it into your blood stream. If it is helpful, it will absorb it. If it is toxic, it will absorb it.
Back to sodium lauryl sulfate. There is a Material Safety Data sheet for those who work with sodium lauryl sulfate. It is required by law for companies to have on hand when they use chemicals in their products.
A clip from their data sheet states, "Wear self- contained breathing apparatus, rubber boots and heavy rubber gloves. Sweep up, place in a bag and hold for waste disposal. Avoit raising dust. Ventilate area and wash spill site after material pick up is complete". If people handling this chemical in factories are required to wear rubber suits and masks, should you be putting this on your skin or teeth? Your teeth have nerves which are connected to every organ in your body. Are you using a tooth paste that is harming your whole body health along with your teeth?

This is only one of many ingredients we use each day which though may be entering our bodies in small amounts, it will store up and become a larger problem down the road. It may already have been and you have not realized that you are sick today because yesterday you used a tooth paste or shampoo.
There are excellent alternatives. There are shampoos, conditioners, body washes, etc which have only natural ingredients in them and nourish your body as opposed to harming them. The pricing is quite comparable as well. An example of this is Wachters products. Click here for more info.

Sodium Laurel Sulfate is now in Betty Crocker box frostings as a "foaming agent"
Can that be safe to EAT?
