Solar Panel Benefits

The Benefits Stack Up
The more we hear about changes that are happening to the environment the more we know that we want to do what we can to lessen our carbon footprint and thus I have been drawn time and again toward the benefits of solar power.
Sometimes the evidence does seem to be conflicting about global climate change, and on one hand we hear that global warming is out of control and unstoppable and on the other we hear people dismissing all this talk of a global catastrophe as a bunch of hogwash.
When I hear arguments such as these raging backwards and forwards I tend to think about what I see around me, what I can actually do about it and how those changes will benefit not only the environment but my family as well. Let's face it, the changes we as individuals can make have to be tempered by what is practical and what is affordable.
From my own personal viewpoint I believe that the climate is changing, I think the polar caps are melting and that we are storing problems up for the future. I think this because of the freak weather we seem to be experiencing in many areas of the world and what the scientists tell us about the level of the polar melt. This makes me want to make changes on a personal level.
Thus I am going to do what I can to conserve energy through using less where possible, through insulation and if at all possible through alternate power sources. The cleanest of these I believe to be solar and wind energy and if you live in an area in the world that is blessed with a good climate then probably the easiest to implement is solar power.
However, again my natural caution kicks in and although this sounds great I start to think how much is this all going to cost me? I have heard horror stories from friends who have been quoted for the installation of solar panels and it has run into the tens of thousands. That just isn't going to happen, not on my budget anyway, so again I have to think practically. Yes solar panels are going to save me money but how long will the payback be in terms of much lower fuel bills.
The answer to this is to make the installation very low cost and thus the saving almost immediate, and one answer I have found to this is Green DIY Energy. Solar panel benefits are many, they save you money, they save energy and they help you go green, however the fact that they can be installed easily and cheaply is the biggest benefit of all.
