Reduce your Carbon Footprint

If you have ever thought about switching over to solar power or adding it to your existing electrical system as a back up, there is no better time than the present.

Solar Power is clean energy and it reduces the burden on our climate that gas and coal emissions create. Solar energy is climate friendly, earth friendly and over time, very friendly to your budget. Installation of solar power will decrease your carbon footprint tremendously.

The Upside

Here are the very excellent pros when considering solar energy:

1. Solar energy is free and unlimited. It will help you to lower and maybe even eliminate your monthly electricity bill.

2. Installing a solar power system in your home will raise the value of your property.

3. A solar power system is very low maintenance.

4. Solar power is quiet and reliable.

5. Most local governments have a tax rebate or incentive program for switching over to this renewable resource.

If you have ever considered having a solar retrofit done to your home, then you have probably explored your options and found that the cost can be very expensive.  It doesn’t have to be.  There are many books online that can be downloaded immediately with detailed plans and supply lists for a fraction of  the cost.

Nice hub ! I've asked this question on another hub but I'll ask it here too and maybe I'll start a campaign. My question is - Why don't they put solar panels on wind turbines ? Wind turbines stand out in the sun all day long, surely they could stick sone solar panels on the bit that doesn't move and get two sources of energy for the price of one? Seems nuts to me to build a whopping great tower and totally underuse its possibilities. But WTF do I know ?

Good point... maybe they will come up with a wind turbine that has solar panels!
