Some Thoughts on Writing for eHow
73Writing Online for eHow
I spent a couple years writing online before I learned about eHow, and that's a shame because writing for eHow has been a fantastic experience, and as more time passes and I get more articles published for passive income, the results are only going to continue to improve and continue to get better and better. While writing for eHow my earnings have consistently gone up month by month, and this is without solid SEO, marketing, or even writing all that many articles. Only recently have I really challenged myself to turn up the article volume and really hit eHow for the potential it has, and even early on (as in too early to really tell) I'm seeing some great signs.
One of the first things I would recommend for writers looking at eHow is to definitely get started now. Time is definitely your friend, and the more quality articles you can write while excited and energized, the higher your income will be when the inevitable "frustrations" or tiredness sets in.
Another recommendation I would make is to write several articles in several different niches. Some niches earn more than others, and I've found that certain categories that have done very well for other writers haven't done as well for me - and I've also found some of my most consistent earners come from categories that nobody recommended to write in.
This is one website that for any writer is a great way to build long term passive income, and I highly recommend eHow as a great site for online freelance writers. There are amazing opportunities here, and every month brings me better and better news. eHow is a powerful authority site, and if you've been writing for this site but not seeing nearly the results you want to, then I strongly recommend taking a look at WriterGig's eHow ebook. I don't recommend products that I don't believe in, and after buying this e-book the minor changes I made to my articles made my investment back in two weeks. It really is worth it.

Tips on Writing for eHow
This section is definitely not the end all, be all, of writing for eHow, as there are a lot of different perspectives and ways to make a really solid residual income off of this site. There aren't many others who have openly reported making enough off of eHow to constitute a full time living off of this site alone, but there are at least two authors who are in that range, and many more make several hundred, or even a thousand, dollars a month just off of eHow articles. As one part of a freelance writing income stream, eHow can be a very powerful tool for online freelance writers.
Freelance writing for eHow is a great way to build residual income, and one of the best things about it is there isn't a one time payment system, or a capped or tiered system. This means that there isn't a set ceiling for how much you could eventually earn from this website. There might only be two people making something akin to full income now, but a few years from now when there are several good authors with over 1,000 articles, that could definitely changed. eHow is definitely a quality with quantity writing game.
Some quick tips that I would recommend:
- Start with how-to topics that you are knowledgable about or that interest you
- Think specific instead of general
- Write across a broad range of categories to see what earns the most for you
- Find unique titles that make it easy to find your articles and cross reference them with others
- Learn from your victories, as well as your mistakes
These are just a few basic tips for learning how to write on eHow. Beyond this, as with any type of online learning for how to make money, or any part of learning how to become a full time freelance writer, there is no better learning experience than actually jumping in feet first and doing it. So if you haven't already started, I'd strongly recommend getting to it and even if it's just one article a day - that's 365 by the end of the year, and the results from those should be enough to encourage you to go all out on the rest.

One Online Blogger's Take on eHow
Personal Experiences Writing for eHow
Pulling from my own personal experiences, I have to say that I'm really excited about what eHow has to offer freelance writers. Not only does the per hour pay for an article go way up as it keeps making money month after month, but the fact that it is passive income that keeps growing is just as important. For me I've found several things that seem to hold true for me so far.
1) Weight loss is a pretty good niche. A lot of my most consistent earners on eHow, articles that make $1-7 a month, every single month, without fail, are in this niche. While the more popular diets are hard niches to break into because of competition, the weight loss and diet niche have so many long tail keywords and niches that you should be able to find some that are profitable. Once I hve some time to do some serious marketing, I suspect these will do even better.
2) Even weird Internet and Computer articles to fairly well. I'll have articles that I can't figure out how to get keywords out of, which ads from Google they could possibly trigger, but articles like: "how to fix the taskbar when the toolbar disappears" or other equally odd titles, like "how to see how Google reads your website via keywords" don't earn me a lot, but they tend to earn me $1.50 each a month on average with very little traffic.
3) The personal finances haven't earned me as much as many people say it's earned them, but I think this is a harder niche to get your eHow article to rank in the search engines for, and once you do I would think this niche would be the most likely to give you a big earner.
4) You can never pinpoint which articles will be money makers. I have articles I didn't think would do anything that pull $5 a month, every month, and others I thought would be homeruns that haven't earned me a single penny. You can make educated guesses, but sometimes you just can't tell.
All in all, I would highly recommend eHow to online writers, and as I push on and keep writing I'll be sure to update everyone on my progress and my thoughts. By the end of the year (2009) my goal is to be making $500 a month in passive income from eHow alone, and I don't think that this goal is unreasonable or out of reach by any stretch at all. So far writing for eHow has been enjoyable and profitable, and it's something that I would reccomend for other writers, as well.

Comments on Writing for eHow?
Great hub! I am a fan of eHow as well. I wrote one article for them some time ago, and I noticed I earned passive income without doing anything. No SEO or trying to get traffic to the article. Now I have written my second article without any SEO and my article views doubled.
been thinking about trying eHow but i am having second thoughts...
i have been thinking of writing for ehow after raeding a few articles about this site..when i first heard of this idea i could hardly think about 'how to' stuff...but it's all a matter of getting the ordianry title come to that key word...sure it must be an interesting experience. will try it out.
Wow...You took all of my words out of my mouth on this one! Thanks...Ehow is my favorite, even though they tend to have technical problems.
I am really loving E-how, because in one month, I have over 32 articles and I am already seeing some nice money. With a Google PR of 7, your E-how articles have a very good chance of showing up in the SERPS on page 1 or 2 for fairly competitive terms. :)
Good luck in your writing goals as well.

Excellent article by Jerry G2. New to ehow but thus far I think it has a lot of potential in many areas. i.e. learning to become a better writer, stimulating creativity, helpful articles, community support and friendships.. Money-wise I think it's quite a lot of work for very little pay; eventually it could pay for a couple utility bills or two weeks of groceries. Best of all, It is fun to see one's work in published format.
