Some of Philippines Theme Park – (Star City & Manila Ocean Park)
82PERYA
Carnival or most identified as “perya” in the Philippines, is ordinarily seen during fiesta. These carnivals hop in from town to town to give grace to the fiesta celebration. Every town is celebrating fiesta yearly; so you could just picture out these carnivals sprouting here and there. Recently some theme park made their name known to the locals; the Filipinos will no longer wait for the annual fiesta to experience some thrilling and exciting rides.
There were numerous line ups of nice theme park here in the Philippines. Some of the famous one in Luzon would be Enchanted Kingdom, Fantasy World, Global Fun Carnival, Star City and Manila Ocean Park. There were some rumors that Universal Studios theme park will soon to rise in Manila Bay. Huh I’m getting excited for that.
I was lucky that I was in the middle of these wonderful places. Although Enchanted Kingdom, Global Fun and Fantasy World are just nearby I haven’t been there yet. I’ll try visiting Enchanted or Global Fun this Christmas Season. As for Fantasy World not a chance I guess, as it only caters to shareholders.
Star City
Star City started out as a Holiday Craze in 1991; only active during Christmas Season. After some reformation, it is now visited by the locals all year round. There were a lot to see in Star City. The little ones will enjoy several kiddie rides indoor. Some of the adult rides were located indoor, but most of the thrilling rides were outside. Other highlights to watch out are Snow World, Dino Island, Land of the Giants, Peter Pan, House of Horrors, Dungeon, Kilabot ng Mummy, and Time Tunnel.

Manila Ocean Park
Manila Ocean Park is the Philippines’ first state-of-the-art Oceanarium. The journey will begin from witnessing the:
- Waterfalls - artificial waterfall that flows into 8 different water tanks displaying various flora and fauna
- Reef - series of 46 tanks that feature the very colorful Philippine underwater rainforest
- Fishing Ground - Four big distinct aquariums will display an assortment of fish in all sizes and colors
- Living Ocean - 25-meter walk along an underwater tunnel and experience how marine animals interact with each other in their natural habitat
- The Deep – you will see the barracudas that is known as the “Tiger of the Sea”
- Overhang tank – underneath the overhang tank is a variety of rays
- Sharks – see various species of shark
Other than the open water marine habitat; boutique, mall, restaurant and function facilities are just within the area.

Same here. I don't want those scary rides coz I'm scared to death, lol!
Thanks for showing us an unknown side of the Philippines. I would love to take part in one of those fiestas and I am sure the children would love the theme parks.
I was in Manila in 1965...sure has changed...Nothing like that then...
Thanks for this interesting Hub...
Thank you for the visit Pricessa. It’s my pleasure to introduce the unfamiliar face of my dear Philippines. =)
Hi maven, it’s great you’ve seen Manila back then. Although there has been a lot of development as of this time, I believe back in 1965 there were no pollution yet, less traffic, and poverty is immaterial. I would love to see the Philippines in 1965, lol! =)
What a fun and colorful theme park hub! I liked the snow world in Star City. The Enchanted Kingdom and Fantasy World looked interesting too. And I love Universal Studios that I visited here in the states (Florida)! I'll keep my fingers crossed that you get your wish of a Univ. Studio near you! Thanks for sharing.
I love Snow World too; we get to experience snow which we obviously don’t have here in the Philippines hehe! It's freezing cold; we didn’t even have the chance to take photos (but my brother did as seen above) as we only stayed for a while. If we didn’t bring my daughter with us, maybe we could have stayed longer.
Huh I hope we could experience Universal Studio too!
Thanks Dottie! =)
Wow! Thanks for giving me incite into your wonderful land. I've friends from there, but have never been to the Phillipines myself.
My only suggestion is perhaps a video..not sure if this is the same "Star City," but if it is..well, here's a video for the hub: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=38qWVtnGX0Y
=)
Keep'em coming!
Oh thank you Ixxy. Yeah the "star city" in the vid is the same as the "star city" I've mentioned here in my hub.
Thank you for dropping by. It's nice to know that you have some Filipino friends in your place. Hope you can visit the Philippines someday. =)
Hi Charia. I'm glad you had a good time being in these places. :) I sincerelly hope I can visit the Philippines some day, not just for the fun places, but the nice people. :)
Ooh, I'm so excited! My husband and I are going to Manila next month, and we're planning to visit Manila Ocean Park. :) I'd like to go to Star City, too. Is it near Manila Ocean Park? :D
Hi Haunty! I sincerely hope as well that you could visit my dear Philippines! We are waiting for you. hahaha I don't know if it's just me but it kinda sounds morbid, when I say we are waiting for you! Anyway hospitality is in our very nature. Thanks for your visit, as usual! Really appreciate it. =)
Hello teacher Susan! Yes Star City and Manila Ocean Park are in close proximity. MOP is behind the Quirino Grandstand Luneta, while SC is in Roxas Blvd. Pasay near CCP Complex.
Nice that you'll have some time to have a break. =)
Now I just have to go to Star City! Hehe. :) And it IS really nice to have a break and spend some time with my husband after six months of being in separate islands! :P Thanks!
Well, were it not for your hospitality well-known to me it would've almost sounded like some sort of trap. lol
And thanks for the kindness.
Oh I see, your husband is working in another part of the land. At least you get to see each others after six months; I get to see my husband after 12 long months, sometimes longer. =(
Good luck on your vacation Teacher Susan! =)
Hey Haunty! Thanks!
Hi Charia, I enjoyed the different photos you posted. Ahh and I see baby Sam too. And in the Dino pic was that your hubby? :-) Thumbs up for this hub.

haha i would like to share an embarassing moment in starcity with my boyfriend...so we went to the walk-in adventures there. (kilabot na mummy?im not sure of the title., also the gabi ng lagim.and the future one.) i didnt saw the warning of not taking pictures inside... so i did took some pictuires inside.. then suddenly a voice said: bawal po kumuha ng pictures..so we we're shocked... only we did then notice that there are surveillance cams inside.. we kissed inside for like a gazillion times.... and we're not aware of the cams inside....it's really embarassing. hahaha
That was really funny Gil...maybe u just have to wait if someone will upload your vid to YouTube. LOL! Thanks for commenting! =)

Good Hub. But, I am scared to play in those games. Any way good information about Phillipines' theme parks.
