62Winter Clearance Portraits from the Somerset Collection
December 30 was bargain day at the Somerset Collection, Troy, Michigan. The mall was not mobbed by shoppers, and in contrast to WalMart at Thanksgiving, no fatalities were reported. There were no lines at the cashiers, and plenty of friendly, no, eager sales clerks were ready to serve customers. The mannequins kept their unblinking, expressionless cool. Santa was nowhere to be seen.

Same to you! Tnx for the comment. Pics take a while to load.
Ralph,
Great photos, but the scenes were eerily free of shoppers on the prowl. On Rodeo Drive in BH you see more shoppers, but the discounts are running up to 70% off on selected items. Of course, the items they select usually aren't the things I would select, but what the hey!
Michigan is in tough shape. You Californians buy too many foreign cars. Remember Pearl Harbor! Remember the Lusitania! Buy a GM, Ford or Chrysler product!
Great photos!!!
Great pictures; I am amazed at the lack of people in the mall with such sales as your photos show. Even the Apple store looked empty...not good my friend...no wonder all the "people" in your photos were expressionless.
Happy New Year and thanks for sharing the pics!
Linda
Great shots Ralph - thanks for sharing. By the way Sally and I were at Somerset yesterday. I can't find us in your pics......
Happy New Year!
Yeah man; Where's Shirley and Sally?
............Great shots Ralph. Thanks for not publishing the boozey dinner party.
Reminded me of some of those movies where the world has ended and only mannequins and robots, or one last guy who somehow was immune to the virus that killed off the human race, were all that was left.
The manikins do have an eerie look about them.
