Songs - Heartbreak; Raw and Real
64
I love music, all types of music. As I was sorting my music on my iPod, I realized I needed to list my favorite heartbreaking songs. I have gone through some heartache, true love, raw breakups in my lifetime, whether from a man breaking up with me, cheating on me or just being mean to me. Here are the songs that touched my heart and helped to heal my heart during these rough times. Because as raw as these wounds are, you will heal.
My Heart Will Go On by Celine Dion Theme from the movie Titanic, it was so raw and I cried many, many tears when my boyfriend’s family moved away and I didn’t even get to say goodbye. I was young and dumb but completely in love with him.

Bring on the Rain and Burn by Jo De Messina When I caught my boyfriend cheating on me with my best friend, these two songs made me so strong. Listen to the lyrics; it's about love, heartache and healing, it will make you stronger as you sing it. Promise!
Endless Love by Diana Ross & Lionel Richie The power of this song was unreal to me. My first love, I felt everything they sung in this song. I moved to another state with my family, I was sixteen and I loved him more than live itself. This love song totally explained our love for one another.

Strong Enough by Cher This song was unbelievable in it’s time. I was in high school, yes, a long time ago and let me tell you this song made me tough, cold and heartless. I realized I was being used and this song taught me to be strong and I prevailed through the heartache whole experience.
I Will Survive by Gloria Gaynor To this day, I still love this song. I will never forget, I was in my early twenties and went to “70s” bar with my boyfriend and he broke up with me there to go out with another girl, can you believe that? I was sitting at the table by myself and this song came on and as I was listening to it, I did something I have never done before. I got up from my chair, walked to the dance floor and danced all by myself as I sung this song. In fact, I was so hot that after the song ended, a couple of cute guys came up to me to ask me to dance, and I did. I never once looked for my boyfriend but this song made me shine like no other.
Take Another Little Piece of My Heart by Janis Joplin Biggest loser that I ever gave my heart too, well, this song truly represented that time in my life where I was young and in love. I will leave it at that, to hard to explain yet. Great song and it helped to explain a lot to me personally.
There are some great songs written by wonderful and fabulous writers and I am grateful that I get the opportunity to relate them to my life and different times in which they affected my life. Music can change the way you look at life, listen, learn and heal.

Melinda, I don't know how to read music either but at least we appreciate the songs. I love classical music as well, hopefully you will be able to pull out your boxes again and enjoy them, all my best.
Loved the hub. Brings back a lot of memories.
Oh these songs are heart-breakers, I adore Endless Love, I love doing that one karaoke with one of my friends. My Heart Will Go On, makes me think of the Titanic which I have seen 13 times and cried over 26 times. I am a sucker for these type of romantic songs lol. xo
I saw Titantic about 10 times too...great movie, special effects were amazing. Thanks for the comments and yes, I am a sucker too :)
I, too, love music. Though rock is my favorite music some of the saddest songs are country. "He stopped loving her today" "Ruby, don't take your love to town" "Don't take the girl"
James, those are some good ones, I listen to some country as you can tell but you picked strong songs for heartbreaks. Thanks for sharing.
I love music too and how it touches us some place deep within our souls. Great article!
Alternativeavenues, you are so correct, music does touch us deep in our soul. Thank you for reading.
Ladybird, you really can pick em, the vote thingy was just too hard. I Will Survive has got to be the best all time break up song, but you can't go wrong with old Janis either - Janis before they ruined her.
Thank you Dolores, we have great taste :) I am trying to fix the voting...thanks for letting me know, I wondered why others were not voting.
Great job, even fun through the hard learning. I vote for
"I Will Survive" because I don't know many of the others...I also have 'sung', "These Boots Were Made for Walking". Good hubbing and best wishes in it all...:-)
frogyfish, thank you for voting and commenting, I appreciate it!

Oh, I love the Titanic Theme song and Endless Love. Thank you for reminding.
Music is in my soul even if I do not know how to read music sheets. I had to give up my love for classical music when I started meditation, so I boxed all of my cds and unboxed them only a couple of years ago, only to box them again..
Thank you.
