Songs To Entertain 3-5 Year Olds....
72HOW TO ENTERTAIN 40 PRESCHOOL KIDS PART I
I was presented with a challenge of entertaining 40 preschool kids for 20 minutes so I decided to keep a log what I did or what I do.... Plus a challenge by another teacher to a male teacher who has a big male ego... I had to pull some tricks out of the bag from some teachers I have met along the 10 years I have been doing this.... Here are some songs:
1) Mother Gooney Bird....(A great song from a great old friend) (Song was originally Father Abraham).
Lyrics:
Mother Gooney Bird has seven chicks, and seven chicks had mother gooney bird
and they couldn't walk, and the couldn't talk but they all could go like this
1) flap one arm
Mother Gooney Bird has seven chicks, and seven chicks has mother Gooney Bird and they couldn't walk and they couldn't talk but they all could go like this
2) Flap both arms
3) Next you sing the chorus again while flapping both arms
4) Next you sing the chorus again while flapping both arms and standing on one leg
Finally you sing the chourus flapping both arms and jumping on both legs and end the song saying Quack and sitting on your bottom!
Here is One that will take Forever and take up much time....
FIve Little Pumpkin Song....
Have 5 kids volunteer:
Sing this: Five little Pumpkins Sitting on a Gate
The first on says ," Oh My it's getting Late"
The second one says, " There are Witches in the air"
The third one says, "We don't care!"
The fourth one says, "Let's Run and Run"
The Fifth one says," It's time for some fun!"
OOOOOH went the wind (hands up and wiggle your fingers) and out went the light (clap) and
the five little five little pumpkins rollin out of site (rotate your hands in a rolling motion)...
This can entertain for a while... Your 5 children will stay up there and you can feed a line to each child.
For language activity:Yyou can extend it by creating cards and assign them to each child...
For a math activity: "You can even put a big old 1 on the first line, and a 2 on the second line and so fourth... You can shuffle the kids in the line and ask the audience if they are in the right order. The children will move around and put themselves in right position...
I am telling you this can be a play to woo and wow the parents... It gets them everytime!!!!!!!!!!!!!
