Sony Ericsson Aino

The Review

Presenting the Sony Ericsson Aino. A high end phone packed with... well... features! It's the new flagship phone of Sony Ericsson and its an attractive one at that.

Just a while after the release of the Sony Ericsson Idou comes the Aino, seems like japanese/korean (I don't know which) names are becoming the new naming trend of mobile phones. Anyway, by no means that the Aino is another version of the Idou. It's a whole new mobile phone and a new design, maybe even better.

Exciting Feature:

Now all these high end features are nothing new compared to other phones released in the quarter or even before. But what sets the Sony Ericsson Aino different from these phones is its ability to control your PS3. No, not the gaming part, but the multimedia functionality of it! Now, you might be thinking that the PSP can do that. Well, yes indeed, if you have one. What this really does is that, the Aino has taken the remote function of the PSP and brought it on board. You can now stream movies from your PS3 to your Aino.

Design:

The Sony Ericsson Aino has a sleek look. It has a slim slider form design, a 104 x 50 x 15.5 mm. Currently, it has a luminous casing colour and the details along with the user interface makes it an enticing phone. It boasts its beautiful TFT Screen. Displaying 16 million colors in a clear 432 x 240 pixels resolution screen which is 3 inches big! Colors are vibrant and display images really well. It has a keypad, just slide it down. The keypads are nice to touch and easy to press. There are also various shortcut buttons that will make navigating easier.

Multimedia:

As for a high end feature phone, the Sony Ericsson Aino is indeed packed with useful and high tech features. It’s Stero Speakers, Clear Bass and Clear Stereo which means it’s got louder and better sound quality. Aside from that, it also has MegaBass and Shake Control which optimizes and makes music listening even more enjoyable. It's got FM Radio in RDS, an excellent feature that doesn't need much tweaking or powerful add-ons just to have fun with it. You can listen to your favorite Radio Stations and listen to new music.
If you want video entertainment. There isn't a reason why you can't enjoy them on the Aino. It has Video Streaming or just load up the Remote Play function and play the videos to your Sony Ericsson Aino streamed through Wi-fi from your PS3. Convenient isn't it?

Calling and messaging:

The Sony Ericsson Aino can receive calls and messages without a problem. It has Quad Band Technology utilizing GSM 850, GSM 900, GSM 1800, GSM 1900 plus UMTS 900 and 2100. The phone supports SMS (Text Messaging) and MMS (Multimedia Messaging), no problem sending and receiving. You can send and receive Email as well as an Attachment. It has Predictive Text functionality which is a need among speed texting users.
Video Calling is great on this phone. If the network is good then you can experience an almost seamless video calling. It uses 3G HSDPA (UMTS 900 and 2100) when connecting your video calls.

Camera:

You can take good quality pictures with the Aino. It has an 8.1 Megapixel with 16 x Digital Zoom. It has automatic functionalities that will make picture taking an easy task. These are Auto Focus, Touch Focus, Face Detection, Image Stabilizer and Red Eye Reduction. It even has Photo Fix and BestPic which will take a series of photos making sure you get the desired result you wanted.
