It was a bitter, wet Manchester Evening and we had been on set for several hours working on one final scene. The production team was exhausted and the weather was dismal. The Only problem was that with my previous HD Camcorder only had 11 mins left in recording time because the 80gb Hard Drive had almost reached it's capacity and we didnt have the back up camcorder at hand. We frantically attempted to delete previous scenes off the camcorder to conserve space but to know avail and this was highly frustrating.
What Happened Next?
Well to cut a long story short I finished the scene but it wasn't that day. This was because the Hard Drive was full and we had to re-schedule. That particular blunder cost us alot of time, money and energy. Have you had a similar experience with one your previous camcorders?
That was a major flaw with alot of HD Camcorders and that is why at first I was apprehensive to take the plunge with this model. However when I learnt that the Sony HDR-XR520v had a 240gb Hard Drive I was blown away and had to check it out for myself.
The Good news is that I have been more than happy with it's performance and the high ratings and reviews are truly merited. We have been recording in Full HD 1920 x 1080 resolution and still have well over 100gb of storage left to play with.

The one thing which I love about the handycam is the fact that the 12.1 mega pixel lens is Sony's new G Lens your review went into great depth. I totally agree with you for that price i could't understand why Sony was giving so much. This camcorder truly competes with the high end models and even for the fact of the camera lens that competes some of the top Digital SLR's so this is truly value for money. The weight distribution is fantastic as well because they have modified the design from the previous models and the hard drive weight is less. All in all its a very sturdy sleek camcorder.

Sony is not only the number 1 Brand but for consumer electronics they are light-years ahead of the competition. When I first looked at getting this camcorder I wasn't sure whether they could advance it far enough from their previous model so it would be worth buying but I was more than happy.

If you really want the top elite electronic products on the market then Sony is truly the only way to go. It's closest competitors still are not even using the GPS mapping system or have such a robust Hard Drive. 2009 CES Award Winner.
I have to admit I also I have to agree, sony are the top dog when it comes to this kind of thing. When it comes to value for money, there is no other.

Great to meet you and thanks for stopping by. The Camera has a great feature of "image stabilization" so even if you knock it about and are shaky when holding it the clarity is still evident. It will be perfect whilst you are boarding.
It is truly a great camcorder, I own it and have been very pleased with it. One note though, it is only a 6mp sensor, of which only 4mp are used for video capture. The 12mp is for photos and is interpolated.
