Sore corners of mouth are the symptoms of an infection called angular cheilitis. This infection is also known as perleche, angular stomatitis and cheilosis.
The infection can be caused by a fungus or by a bacteria. It then manifests in splits or sores in the corners of the mouth that ache whenever the mouth is opened and cause a big discomfort in eating, speaking or laughing.
Angular cheilitis can also cause a swelling and a kind of a red rash in the sides of the lips. In severs cases the sores or ulcers that form in the sides of the lips can even bleed.
How to heal sore corners of mouth :
One of the mainly prescribed treatments for angular cheilitis and sore corners of mouth is 1% hydro cortisone. This medicine is marketed under many different brand names but, unfortunately, its results leave a lot to be desired because many of those who have tried it have been disappointed by its lack of efficiency.
There are also other creams for angular cheilitis like Mycolog-ll. This type of cream contain an anti-fungal (that kills the fungus that caused the infection) and steroids to speed up the healing of the symptoms.

i had angular Cheilitis FOR THE LAST 4 MONTHS. I USED MANY PRODUCTS FROM INEXPENSIVE TO EXPENSIVE.
