There are far too many hotels and restaurants near the Santa Monica Beach and Pier to list. Notable places include Rusty's Surf Ranch, the Mariasol Cocina Mexicana and the Surf View Cafe. Hotels include the Hotel Oceana Santa Monica and the Loews Santa Monica Beach Hotel.

Parking and Directions

Santa Monica Beach is a three and a half mile long beach located approximately fifteen miles west of downtown Los Angeles at the coast end of the Santa Monica Freeway. There are a multitude of places to park near the beach and pier complex. Most are metered parking.

Recreation and Activities

Three words: Santa Monica Pier. The pier has the Pacific Park amusement park which includes a ferris wheel and an historic carousel dating from 1909. There is the Playland Arcade and the Santa Monica Pier Aquarium sponsored by Heal the Bay. Events include the Pier Jams Acoustic Music Festival and the Twilight Dance Series. There are also numerous shops and vendors along the pier.
