Spa Covers

Spa cover is one of the most important part of your hot tub or spa. A good spa cover ensures safety, security, and energy savings. It is more than just an accessory for your spa.

Spa covers keep out all wind-blown matter and prevent debris from clogging the filter and pump. It also prevents the accidental fall of a child or pet into a tub. Spa covers also prevent heat from escaping, thereby saving energy and lowering your energy bill.

Spa covers are available in both rigid and flexible versions.

Rigid Spa Covers

Rigid spa covers are mostly made from foam covered in vinyl. These covers are also best insulators. They are available in thicknesses of 2 to 3 inches.

Choosing the best spa cover depends on the location of your spa. Thinner spa covers are best for indoors. Thicker ones are best for outdoors.

These rigid covers weigh around 30 pounds or even more. Weight of rigid spa covers is also a measure of its quality - the heavier is the cover, the better is the quality. But because they are heavier, they offer difficulty in handling.


Flexible Spa Covers

You can consider a flexible cover if you want ease of handling is important. Flexible spa covers are suggested only when your spa is secured by fencing or some other means to prevent accidents. Some flexible covers have air pockets offering a measure of insulation. Even these lightweight flexible spa covers are good in keeping out dirt and leaves.
