Spain Soccer Team

"La Furia Roja" or Red Fury as Spain´s Soccer Team is nicknamed, are on their way to winning their first World Cup Championship.

Spain´s National Soccer Team is living a key moment in their history and they want to take advantage of it to conquer the world. Their team stands not only on the feet of Casillas, Piqué, and David Villa, but also Fernando Torres and Xabi Alonso. They are led by coach Vicente del Bosque and FIFA ranks them number 1. The "Furia Roja" has become a sophisticated winning machine, and in the 2010 World Cup in South Africa (in Spanish "El Mundial de Futbol 2010") thier dream of winning the cup for the first time, may just become true.

Their team is Spain´s dream team; their goal keeper is Iker Casillas whom some consider the best in the world. He was a key player for Spain´s Soccer Team winning the Eurocup. Their defense has Puyol and Gerard Piqué, both Barcelona players. In midfield, Xavi Alonso, whose name just may be among the finalists for FIFA´s player of the year. Scoring goals, Spain´s Soccer Team has Fernando Torres and David Villa. Thier coach, Vicente del Bosque, has led the Real Madrid team to winning the Eurocup two times. He´s decribed as a sensitive, low profile, and with an amazing capability to organize teams and teamwork. He may just be the coach who will lead Spain´s Soccer team to win the cup at El Mundial.

This team may change history and win the next Soccer World Cup, inside this team there´s passion and a winner´s drive.

The Story of the World Cup The Story of the World Cup
For a month every four years, millions around the world turn their attention to the World Cup, where the most skillful soccer players proudly represent their countries. Brian Glanville, a sports journalist and soccer commentator, brings his wit and detailed knowledge of the game to The Story of the World Cup, a breezy romp through the competition's history and personalities. Although Glanville is obviously knowledgeable about his subject--from its origins to its politics--he is careful not to patronize his readers.

Football Against the Enemy Football Against the Enemy
Throughout the world, football is a potent force in the lives of billions of people. Focusing national, political and cultural identities, football is the medium through which the world's hopes and fears, passions and hatreds are expressed. Simon Kuper travelled to 22 countries from South Africa to Italy, from Russia to the USA, to examine the way football has shaped them. At the same time he tried to find out what lies behind each nation's distinctive style of play, from the carefree self-expression of the Brazilians to the anxious calculation of the Italians. During his journeys he met an extraordinary range of players, politicians and - of course - the fans themselves, all of whom revealed in their different ways the unique place football has in the life of the planet.

The Glory Game The Glory Game
The Glory Game was published in 1972. It has, as the author notes in his introduction to the 1999 edition, been in print every since. The book tells the story of the 1971-72 season of the English football team the Tottenham Hot Spur Football Club. This is the prototype of many such team stories that have followed. The book succeeds because it tells the story of not only a team in the collective sense but of the individuals that made it.

Goooal: A Celebration Of Soccer Goooal: A Celebration Of Soccer
Andres Cantor is one of the sporting world's true characters: he is the stentorian voice of soccer on the Univision network. The book's title comes from the multisyllabic wail Cantor lets out when a goal is scored and he's at the microphone. His book's contents are far less loud, but are every bit as colorful and interesting: a detailed history of World Cup soccer and the jingoism that often attends it all run through Cantor's outsized personality.
