So if you get a really annoying user that insists in typing lol@lol.com as his email you can just include lol@ or lol.com in your blacklist and all the comments including that will go to Spam.

Now you have to be carefull because WorPress blacklist will filter all words that include the terms you define on your blacklist.

Let's imagine you want to filter insurance and car, if you type car and and write insurance on another line every comment that include the term car will be filtered as spam.

For example if the comment has the word carring it will be filtered as spam as it include the term car.

The right solution is to type car insurance in the same line. Avoy writing single words on your blacklist. How to define your comment blacklist

  1. Go to Settings
  2. Now click on Discussion
  3. Scroll down the page until you find Comment Blacklist

Now all you have to do is insert the keywords you wish to filter as spam.To help you out I created a blacklist that you can download and include immediatly. Just copy / paste the words to the blacklist section.

Download the Spam Comment Blacklist

Hope this is helpfull to all of you tired of getting annoying spam all the time and everyday more annoying...

WordPress Comment Spam Blacklist

I've been using WordPress for some years now and I've had my face off with spam. Tryed all sort of plug-ins but the only ones that prevail are Akistmet and a Captcha plugin.

But even with this, trackback spam insists on passing by and honestly I'm a bit tired of getting at least 10 spam comments immediately after posting something. It's just so annoying.

Today while I was installing the new version of WordPress I noticed something under the Discussion settings, there's a «Comment Blacklist».

What this blacklist does is filter every comment, that include the words you define on your blacklist, as spam.

I've never actually noticed this before but seems useful. This feature does not only filter the comment text but all fields in the comment area such as name, email and url.
