Special Needs Children and Adults

I know special needs children need more looking over than average children. Special needs children are special in their own way. I know this is a touchy subject, but I was once one of them special needs children that needed extra assitance in every day life. I had all types of trouble in school, being placed in Special Ed calsses. It was fine with me. Nothing wrong with that, Or I thought. Growing up special needs requre a lot more help than thought. A lot of the basic education things that were taught in school they rarely remember.

This article means a lot to me. I am writing on my own behalf and expressing my feelings twords being someone in need of further special needs. I believe the Government should be more involved with special needs. It should not matter if it is just kids or not. I know when I was in High School being in that “Special” class I would not be getting the real help I need. I found out later in life when I was growing up that those classes did not really help me with the life I was about to lead. Many people look at special needs people as being stupid, or just plain dumb! Well I have news for you. Thomas Edison was a special needs person. Look at him, he ended up being one of the smartest people of all times.

Schools need to understand each special needs childs needs instead of just setting them off to the side, they are not really getting lifes lessons that they are needing to get. I know because I have debt out the butt. It’s not really nice to say that but its true. I never thought I would have to worry about anything like that. But especially with the way the Economy is right now I could not help not having up to ten different credit cards. I thought that was what everyone else did. School sure did not teach that to the point they should. It is really hard for us special needs people to keep work. I do not know why, maybe people just do not understand us.

If they were so worried while we were in school why can they not offer assistance to us now that we are gone. It’s like oh we will put them in Special Assistance programs and just let them graduate without doing much of anything. I really wish now I could go back to school and actually go back to the classes that I should have been in. It would have helped me out a lot more and possibly would have let me learn more of the facts of life that every child and adult should need to know. I guess you could say I am kind of upset. But in another aspect they were just trying to do what they thought was just “right”. Maybe they thought wrong! I feel like a failure. I owe my parents so much money, I can not keep a job, I have a hard time finding work, what next?
