What would happen if you leave your mom and fiancée alone by themselves? You imagine that they would sit nicely, talk to each other smiling, sip some tea, and laugh happily together over some gossips or your childhood stories.

That is beautiful. Yet, don’t hope too much. You might have heard such a story once from a friend or relative. But, is it always like that? Well, you’re one of the lucky ones if that’s what happens.

However, don’t hope too much. Prepare for the worse.

How bad could it be? You might ask yourself.

It could be very, very bad.

You might feel the tension between the two ladies you love most when they are together even though they try to hide it from you. Or worse, they won’t hide it. They would be very frontal about it.

Your mom might attack your fiancée with her choice of wedding dress. And, your fiancée might want to posses you for herself and won’t share you with your mother.

Those might sound very silly but that happens.

What to do to prevent those from happening in your life?

Draw up territory lines. Talk to both separately. Explain how they both are very special in your life and choosing one will only make your life miserable—which might not be something desired by any of them.

That sounds easy. But, you’d better do it delicately. Make sure nothing you say has the risk of hurting them.

But, what if it has happened? It’s the same. Draw up territory lines. It’s not too late. Just make sure to do it before your fiancée walks the aisle.

Tell your mom not to make a fuss about the wedding dress. And tell your fiancée that your mom is still your mom. She is important for she was the one who brought you to earth. If the girl loves you enough, she would eventually understand.

Now, get ready for your biggest day.
